Discharge Procedure. (i) The Employer shall not dismiss or discipline an employee bound by this agreement except for just and reasonable cause. When an employee is discharged or suspended, they shall be given the reason in the presence of a Xxxxxxx. Such employee and the Union shall be advised promptly in writing by the Employer of the reason for such dismissal or suspension. (ii) An employee considered by the Union to be wrongfully or improperly discharged or suspended shall be entitled to a hearing under Article 13, Grievance Procedure. Step 1 of the Grievance Procedure shall be omitted in such cases. (iii) Should it be found upon investigation that an employee has been improperly suspended or discharged, such employee shall be immediately reinstated in their former position without loss of seniority rating, and shall be compensated for all time lost in an amount equal to normal earnings during the pay period next preceding such discharge or suspension, or by any other arrangement as to compensation which is proper and equitable in the opinion of the parties or in the opinion of the Board of Arbitration if the matter is referred to such a Board.
