DISMISSAL, SUSPENSION, AND DISCIPLINARY DEMOTION. Section A. Just Cause. Disciplinary action may be imposed on ASF Members only for just cause. Discipline may include the following, but not necessarily in this order: oral reprimand, written reprimand, suspension without pay, reduction in salary, demotion, and dismissal. In lieu of a suspension without pay, the Employer may, at its discretion, require an ASF Member to use accumulated vacation in an amount equal to the length of a suspension up to five (5) days. For purposes of progressive discipline, the required use of vacation in lieu of suspension shall be treated as an unpaid suspension of an equivalent length. To establish just cause in a disciplinary action, the Employer must show that: 1) the ASF Member engaged in misconduct and/or unsatisfactory performance, 2) the ASF Member was provided adequate process, and 3) the level of discipline was appropriate for the offense.

  • DISCHARGE, SUSPENSION AND DISCIPLINE 14.01 (a) In the event an Employee is suspended as a disciplinary measure and the Employee considers that an injustice has been done, the matter may be taken up at Step 2 of the Grievance Procedure.

  • Suspension and Dismissal In the event an Employee alleges dismissal or suspension without just cause, the Employee may commence a grievance at Step II. The grievance shall be filed within ten (10) days of the occurrence.

A copy of all such documentation shall be provided to the employee(s) involved, and forwarded to the office of the Union at the time they are issued.

  • Dismissal/Suspension for Alleged Cause Employees dismissed or suspended for alleged cause shall have the right within seven (7) calendar days after the date of dismissal or suspension to initiate a grievance at Step Three of the grievance procedure.
