Common use of Distance Learning Clause in Contracts

Distance Learning. It is mutually recognized that "distance learning" technologies and programs can offer expanded educational opportunities to the District's students, as well as a shared desire to facilitate the realization of such opportunities. Therefore, the parties agree, as follows: A. The District retains the right to offer courses through "distance learning" which are an enhancement of, or in addition to, courses currently provided by Bargaining Unit members; B. During the term of the Agreement, no member of the Bargaining Unit will be terminated or laid off as a result of the District's utilization of "distance learning" or contracting out of these services.
