Program Directors. Departments that contain disciplines which require separate mandated state or federal accreditation shall establish program directors for each discipline requiring accreditation. Program directors shall be assigned by the appropriate manager following consultation with the department chair. In the event that the program director is not the department chair, he/she shall receive a minimum of twenty percent (20%) reassigned time per semester. (This section does not preclude a Department Chair who is also a Program Director from receiving additional reassigned time as determined by the appropriate manager.)

Program Directors. Program Directors are appointed by the Dxxx and recognized as having important duties and responsibilities. Program Directors typically work closely with Department Chairpersons in providing services to students in programs within departments and in other areas of the University. The University retains the right to decide which academic programs need a Program Director and how many Program Directors to have. All Program Directors must be tenured or tenure-track members of the full-time faculty unit. The Deans, with the Pxxxxxx’x approval, retain the right to appoint, reappoint, or not reappoint Program Directors as needed in their Schools and Colleges. A Program Director can have various duties that will be stated in the appointment letter. The following list only illustrates some examples of the duties that Program Directors might have. It is not meant to be an exhaustive list nor will every Program Director necessarily be responsible for all such listed duties: Administering one or more specific academic programs Preparing program-specific accreditation and certification reports Conducting an academic program of study Representing the program in any necessary meetings within the University or external to the University Assessing program performance, progress, and outcomes Conducting periodic reviews of the program, including five year reviews of academic programs as may be required by the University Preparing program specific goals and objectives to be included in department annual reports Working with the department chair on teaching schedules, including assignments of part time faculty and adjunct faculty; Maintaining and modifying program manuals and materials Preparing changes to the course catalogs each academic year Arranging for external mentors, reviewing external quality standards, interacting with various stakeholders Working with department faculty on program specific accreditation and certification and preparing program specific accreditation and certification reports Conducting marketing efforts to maintain enrollment, promotion of the program and recruitment of new students (done in conjunction with other administrative and academic departments) Other duties as recommended by the Department Chair or assigned by the Dxxx and as stated in the appointment letter Program Directors may be required to work during the summer as well as during the normal academic year as a condition of their appointment and this will be taken into account in settin...
Program Directors. Each Party will appoint a program director to oversee all activities conducted under the Product Development Plan during the Collaboration Period (each, a “Program Director” and together the “Program Directors”). Each Party may change its designated Program Director at any time upon written notice to the other Party. Each Program Director will coordinate the efforts of its respective Party in conducting activities under the Product Development Plan during the Collaboration Period.

In addition to responsibilities as a member of the faculty, the Program Director has the responsibility to administer the program and represent the interests of the program to appropriate administrative units. b. Reporting structures for Program Directors will differ depending on the home of the program. i. For programs that are housed in a Department or Centre, the Program Director reports to the Department Chair or the Centre Director and liaises with the Departmental or Centre Committee. ii. For programs that are housed within two or more Departments or Centres, the Program Director reports to the respective Chairs or Directors and liaises with the Departmental or Centre Committees. iii. For programs that are housed outside Departments or Centres, the Program Director reports directly to the Xxxx, unless alternative reporting mechanisms are specified. c. Program Directors provide administration and representation of the program by: i. convening meetings of the Program Committee at least once per term and when program business necessitates for the purpose of establishing policies, practices, and procedures for program implementation, delivery, and development; ii. chairing the Program Committee and preparing the committee meeting agenda and minutes in a timely manner; iii. consulting with all members of the Program Committee on the program’s needs and academic goals; iv. overseeing the administration of the program in consultation with members of the Program Committee and in accordance with Senate regulations; v. overseeing the general progress of students through the program; vi. submitting to the appropriate Department Chair(s), Centre Director(s), and/or Xxxx(s) an estimate of the program’s budgetary requirements for the ensuing year and administering the current program budget; vii. encouraging participation in program activities; and viii. providing the Director-elect with information and documents necessary to prepare to assume the office of Program Director. d. Program Directors who administer programs not housed in a Department or Centre provide administration of the academic unit by: i. managing the operations of the unit; ii. overseeing the use of space and equipment assigned to the unit; iii. allocating and overseeing duties and responsibilities of staff members assigned to the unit; and iv. forwarding to the Xxxx annual performance review recommendations for staff members assigned to the unit. e.
