Common use of Double Shifting Clause in Contracts

Double Shifting. Prior to the first day of September 1975, a Xxxxxxx may be required to work a double shift at the rate of pay provided hereinafter. On and after that date the following provisions will apply: (a) In the event of an emergency, a Xxxxxxx will work such number of hours or shifts as are reasonably required of him/her. Other than in the event of an emergency, double shifts will not be permitted except as hereinafter provided. (b) When no other suitable Xxxxxxx is available to the COMPANY to work that shift a Xxxxxxx may be requested to work a double shift and if he/she sees fit, he/she may work that double shift.
