Duties and Responsibilities of Union Xxxxxxx. The following shall be understood to constitute the duties and responsibilities of Union Xxxxxxx. 7.2.1 After notifying his/her immediate superior, a Union Xxxxxxx shall be permitted to leave his/her normal work area during reasonable times in order to assist in investigation, preparation, writing, and presenting of grievances. The Union Xxxxxxx shall advise the Supervisor of the grievant of his/her presence. The Union Xxxxxxx is permitted to discuss any problem with all employees immediately concerned, and, if appropriate, to attempt to achieve settlement in accordance with the grievance procedure. 7.2.2 If an adequate level of service cannot be maintained in the absence of a Union Xxxxxxx at the time of the notification mentioned above, the Union Xxxxxxx shall be permitted to leave his/her normal work area no later than twenty-four (24) hours after the Union Xxxxxxx provides notification.
