Common use of Educational Improvement and Work Experience Leaves Clause in Contracts

Educational Improvement and Work Experience Leaves. Tenured faculty members may be granted, upon written application to the Xxxxxxx or designee, and upon approval by the Board, a leave of absence without pay or other benefits for purposes of educational improvement or work experience where such is likely to significantly enhance the faculty member's ability to perform his/her responsibilities at the College. Such leaves, if granted, shall be for one (1) semester or two (2). While on such leave, a faculty member shall be allowed to participate in the College group health, dental and life insurance programs, provided the faculty member shall make timely advance payment of all premiums due for such insurance to the designated College office.
