Effects of Leave. If the Residency Program Director, exercising his or her discretion, determines that any leave may affect a resident’s ability to satisfy criteria for completion of the program, the ACGME’s “Special Requirements”, or any other requirements of the Board certifying the discipline or area of training, the Residency Program Director may require the resident to devote additional time for completion of the requirements.
