Common use of Election to Full-Time Office Clause in Contracts

Election to Full-Time Office. (a) With reasonable notice from the employee, in writing, that he or she has been elected to a full- time office of the Union, the Company will grant leave without pay to the employee for the term of the office; (b) The period of leave granted shall be counted as continuous service for the purpose of calculating severance pay, vacation leave and pay increments; (c) Upon termination of his or her position with the Union, the employee shall be entitled to resume employment with the Company provided they are qualified according to Ornge standards and have the appropriate certification, at a salary he or she was paid at the time of leaving, plus any increases granted in the interim.
