Common use of Eligibility and Rate of Leave Accrual Clause in Contracts

Eligibility and Rate of Leave Accrual. All employees in the bargaining unit shall be entitled to earn and accrue annual leave. Employees begin to accrue leave immediately upon employment. Annual leave shall be earned as follows: YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT HOURS EARNED PER YEAR Less than five (5) years Eighty (80) hours Five (5) through nine (9) years One hundred twenty (120) hours Ten (10) years and over One hundred sixty (160) hours An employee's annual leave pay will be based on the employee's bi-weekly pay rate in effect at the end of the pay roll period completed just prior to the beginning of annual leave.
