Common use of Emergencies Clause in Contracts

Emergencies. In an emergency affecting the welfare and safety of life or property, Contractor, without special instruction or authorization from the City Project Manager, is hereby permitted, authorized and directed to act at its own discretion to prevent threatened loss or injury. Except in the case of an emergency requiring immediate remedial work, any work performed after regular working hours, on Saturdays, Sundays or legal holidays, shall be performed without additional expense to the City unless such work has been specifically requested and approved by the City Project Manager. Contractor shall be required to provide to the City Project Manager with the names, addresses and telephone numbers of those representatives who can be contacted at any time in case of emergency.
