EMPLOYMENT OF RETIREES. 12.1 Where a teaching vacancy exists that the Board chooses to fill, the Board may consider and employ a retiree for such vacancy upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. For purposes of this Article a “retiree” is an individual who has attained service retirement status with Ohio’s State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) and is otherwise qualified by licensure/certification and background for public school teaching in Ohio.
