EMPLOYMENT OF RETIREES. ‌ 1. Where a teaching vacancy exists which the Board may fill at its discretion by hiring a properly certified teacher who is not already employed by the Board, the Board may consider and employ Retirees for any such vacancy upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. For the purposes of this Article, “Retiree” is an individual who has attained service retirement status with the State Teachers Retirement System and is otherwise qualified by certification and background for public school teaching in Ohio.
