Environmental & Social Sub-Activity. The Environmental & Social Sub-Activity is composed of two elements: the environmental management and climate element and the National Resettlement Policy implementation for the power sector element. The environmental management and climate element of this sub-activity includes developing sector environmental, resettlement, climate change, and health and safety tools, capacity, guidelines, and coordination mechanisms across EDSA, EGTC, EPA, and MOE. Additionally, this sub-activity shall support policy reform and institutional capacity building to strengthen Sierra Leone’s ability to meet its climate change objectives and integrate both climate resilience and GHG mitigation strategies into its core operations. An assessment of opportunities to improve climate change integration and management in the energy sector shall lead to the development of related guidelines and policy documents in line with Sierra Leonean government commitments on climate change mitigation and adaptation such as the nationally determined contribution, national climate change policy and action plan, and initial national adaptation plan and priorities set and controlled by Sierra Leone’s EPA. This element’s funding of capacity building shall cover measures for improving climate resilience of the grid by mapping and assessing vulnerabilities, improving technical specifications, and providing training. This shall include funding a watershed study to strengthen the capacity of the MOE and EGTC to understand and manage watershed vulnerabilities that may impact the performance of Sierra Leone’s hydro power assets as climate change impacts occur in the years to come. The National Development Induced Resettlement Policy and Act, the development of which was supported by the Threshold Program, follows international standards regarding resettlement and allows for a consistent and more equitable approach for those affected. The National Resettlement Policy implementation for the power sector element of the Cross-Cutting Capacity Activity shall support the Sierra Leone government in implementing the policy and specifically preparing energy sector stakeholders to comply with the policy. This element shall include training and mentoring for the Ministry of Development and Planning, as well as environmental, social, and resettlement staff at energy sector agencies and ministries.

  • Proposed Corrective Action Plan Simultaneously with the submission of the Audit, the Recipient will submit to OCR for its review and approval a proposed Corrective Action Plan to address all inaccessible content and functionality identified during the Recipient’s Audit. The proposed Corrective Action Plan will set out a detailed schedule for: (1) addressing problems, taking into account identified priorities, with all corrective actions to be completed within 18 months of the date OCR approved the Corrective Action Plan; (2) setting up systems of accountability and verifying claims of accessibility by vendors or open sources; and setting up a system of testing and accountability to maintain the accessibility of all online content and functionality on an ongoing basis.

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY Contractor shall perform any and all of its obligations under this Contract in a manner that does not compromise the health and safety of any DSHS client with whom the Contractor has contact.

  • Safety Where an employee is prevented from working at the employee’s particular function as a result of unsafe conditions caused by the inclement weather, the employee may be transferred to other work in the employee’s classification on site, until the unsafe conditions are rectified. Where such alternative is not available and until the unsafe conditions are rectified, the employee shall remain on site. The employee shall be paid for such time without reduction of the employees’ inclement weather entitlement.

  • Transportation Transportation expenses include, but are not limited to, airplane, train, bus, taxi fares, rental cars, parking, mileage reimbursement, and tolls that are reasonably and necessarily incurred as a result of conducting State business. Each State agency shall determine the necessity for travel, and the mode of travel to be reimbursed.

  • General Requirements The Contractor hereby agrees:

  • Benchmarks for Measuring Accessibility For the purposes of this Agreement, the accessibility of online content and functionality will be measured according to the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA and the Web Accessibility Initiative Accessible Rich Internet Applications Suite (WAI-ARIA) 1.0 for web content, which are incorporated by reference. Adherence to these accessible technology standards is one way to ensure compliance with the District’s underlying legal obligations to ensure people with disabilities are able to acquire the same information, engage in the same interactions, and enjoy the same benefits and services within the same timeframe as their nondisabled peers, with substantially equivalent ease of use; that they are not excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination in any District programs, services, and activities delivered online, as required by Section 504 and Title II and their implementing regulations; and that they receive effective communication of the District’s programs, services, and activities delivered online. Remedies and Reporting

  • Layoff A layoff of an employee shall be deemed to occur when an employee is removed from the work schedule for one (1) week or more due to lack of work.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Recall When it is determined by the Agency to fill a vacancy or to recall employees in a classification where the layoff occurred, the following procedure shall be adhered to: The laid off employee with the most State seniority from the same, similar or related classification series for whom the position does not constitute a promotion as defined in Article 17, and who prior to his/her layoff, held a classification which carried with it the same or higher pay range as the vacancy, shall be recalled first (see Appendix I). All employees who are laid off or displaced out of their classification shall be placed on the recall list by the effective date of their layoff. An employee shall be recalled to a position provided the affected employee is qualified to perform the duties. Any employee recalled under this Article shall not serve a new probationary period, except for any employee laid off who was serving an original or promotional probationary period which shall be completed. Employees shall have recall rights for a period of twenty-four (24) months. Notification of recall shall be by certified mail to the employee’s last known address or hand delivered to the employee with proof of receipt. Employees shall maintain a current address on file with the Agency. Recall rights shall be within the Agency and within recall jurisdictions as outlined in Appendix J. If the employee fails to notify the Agency of his/her intent to report to work within seven (7) days of receipt of the notice of recall, he/she shall forfeit recall rights. Likewise, if the recalled employee does not actually return to work within thirty (30) days, recall rights shall be forfeited. Any employee accepting or declining recall to the same, similar or related classification series and the same appointment category (type) from which the employee was laid off or displaced shall be removed from the recall and reemployment list if recalled to his/her original classification and appointment category (type). Except that any employee declining recall to a different appointment category (type) than that from which he/she was laid off or displaced shall be removed from the recall list for that appointment category (type).

  • Contractor If COUNTY elects to renegotiate this Agreement due to reduced or terminated 20 funding, CONTRACTOR shall not be obligated to accept the renegotiated terms.
