Common use of Evidence of sick leave Clause in Contracts

Evidence of sick leave. An Employee who has given his or her Employer notice of the taking of sick leave must, if required by the Employer, provide the Employer with a certificate of a registered health practitioner or evidence that would be satisfactory to a reasonable person that the leave is taken for a reason specified in clause 30.1(b)(i) for: (a) any absence of more than two consecutive working days; (b) any absences where the number of sick days already taken without the production of a certificate from a registered health practitioner exceeds five working days in a school year; or (c) any absence on the weekday immediately before or immediately after a public holiday so long as that weekday is a working day.
