Common use of Excess Vacation Clause in Contracts

Excess Vacation. ‌ Vacation earned but not taken during the fiscal year in which it is earned may be carried over for a period not to exceed one additional fiscal year. Unless approved as outlined in 13.9.1, excess vacation days (earned days beyond a two year accrual) not taken by June 30th shall be paid for at the bargaining unit employee's regular rate of pay. Employees will be notified by Human Resources of vacation balances and identified excess vacation, if applicable, no later than March 31.
