Extended Maternity Leave. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee may be eligible for time off beyond maternity leave to care for a newborn under the family medical leave act or through health leave or personal leave. An employee who requests and is granted an extension of leave beyond the period of her actual temporary disability shall, upon return to work, be reinstated to such employee’s former position, if vacant, or to the first available job opening for which the employee is qualified.
