Common use of Extended Personal Illness Clause in Contracts

Extended Personal Illness. a. Any employee whose personal illness extends beyond the period of accumulated and extended sick leave will, upon application, and with the approval of the Superintendent, be granted a leave of absence without pay, for such time as necessary for complete recovery from such illness, up to the maximum of one (1) year, or as otherwise provided in applicable regulations. Such leave of absence must be supported by a physician’s certificate and approved by the School Medical Director.

Any employee administrator whose personal illness extends beyond the period of accumulated and extended sick leave will, upon application, and with the approval of the Superintendent, be granted a leave of absence absence, without pay, for such time as is necessary for complete recovery from such illness, up to the a maximum of three (3) years. Such request for leave of absence shall be granted for one (1) year, or as otherwise provided in applicable regulations. Such leave of absence year and must be supported by a physician’s certificate and approved by certificate. At the School Medical Directorend of the leave, the administrator may be dismissed, pursuant to tenure law.
