Extended Tours. (a) Introduction and Discontinuation of a Compressed Work Week (Extended Tours) (i) A compressed work week shall be introduced when: (1) seventy percent (70%) of the employee(s) so indicate by secret ballot; and (2) the Hospital agrees to implement the compressed work week, such agreement shall not be withheld in an unreasonably arbitrary manner. (b) A compressed work week may be discontinued when: (i) seventy percent (70%) of the employee(s) so indicate by secret ballot; (ii) the Hospital because of (1) adverse effects on patient care; (2) inability to provide a workable staffing schedule; (3) where the Hospital wishes to do so for other reasons which are neither unreasonable nor arbitrary. (c) When notice of discontinuation is given by either the employee(s) or the Hospital: (i) the parties shall meet within two (2) weeks of the giving of notice to review the request for discontinuation; and (ii) where it is determined that the compressed work week will be discontinued, the employee(s) affected shall be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the schedules are so amended.

(iextended tour) A compressed work week shall be introduced into any unit when:
i) seventy-four per cent (1) seventy percent (7074%) of the employee(s) employees in the unit so indicate by secret ballot; and
(2ii) the Hospital agrees to implement the compressed work week, such agreement shall not be withheld in an unreasonably unreasonable arbitrary manner.
(b) A compressed work week longer daily tour (extended tour) may be discontinued in any unit when:
(i) seventy percent fifty-one per cent (7051%) of the employee(s) employees in the unit so indicate by secret ballot;; or
(ii) the Hospital because of
(1A) adverse effects on patient care;,
(2B) inability to provide a workable staffing schedule;, or
C) adverse financial effects, states its intention to discontinue the longer daily tour (3extended tour) where in the Hospital wishes to do so for other reasons which are neither unreasonable nor arbitraryschedule.
(c) When notice of discontinuation is given by either the employee(sparty in accordance with paragraph (2) or the Hospitalabove, then:
(i) the parties shall meet within two (2) weeks of the giving of notice to review the request for discontinuation; and
(ii) where it is determined that the compressed work week will be discontinued, the employee(s) affected employees shall be given thirty one (301) days’ month's notice before the schedules are so amended.

(3iii) where the Hospital Health Centre wishes to do so for other reasons which are neither unreasonable nor arbitrary, states its intentions to discontinue the longer daily tour (extended tour) in the schedule.
(c) F – 3 When notice of discontinuation is given by either the employee(sparty in accordance with paragraph (2) or the Hospitalabove, then:
(ia) the parties shall meet within two (2) weeks of the giving of notice to review the request for discontinuation; and
(iib) where it is determined that the compressed work week will be discontinued, the employee(s) affected employees shall be given thirty sixty (3060) days’ days notice before the schedules are so amended.
