Family Care Use. Accrued sick leave may be used to care for children, siblings and parents, (be they natural, adoptive, step or xxxxxx, grandparents, aunts, uncles, of the employee their current spouse or domestic partner, to a maximum of eighty (80) hours in a calendar year (January through December). It is further provided that leave and or vacation accrual may be used for family care up to twelve (12) weeks in any twelve (12) month period. If all bank accruals have been used, without pay, may be used for such care in unusual or emergency cases with the approval of the City Manager.
