Firefighting Protective Gear. All turnout gear at the time of purchase shall exceed the minimum NFPA guidelines for structural firefighting, and shall be maintained and repaired or replaced through guidelines established by the City. The fire chief in his sole discretion will decide the manufacturer and specifications of all uniforms and protective equipment in this article. The City shall provide at no cost to the employee annual SCBA face- piece (OSHA) fit test, and maintain the record of said fit test.
