EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES 1. In this Agreement, extra-curricular programs and activities include all those that are beyond the provincially prescribed and locally determined curricula of the school district. 2. The Board and the Association consider it desirable that teachers participate in extra-curricular activities, and recognize that participation in extra-curricular activities by the individual teacher is on a voluntary basis.
Extracurricular Activities Effective July 1, 2009, stipends for participation in extracurricular activities which are authorized by the appointing authority shall be: Inland $950/year Sailing $400/year Art Club Advisor $300/year Drama Club Advisor $300/year Cross Country Skiing $150/year Boys’ Basketball $1000/year Girls’ Basketball (if class D) $1000/year Asst. Political Activity Prohibited None of the funds, materials, property or services provided directly or indirectly under the Agreement shall be used for any partisan political activity, or to further the election or defeat of any candidate for public office.
PROFESSIONAL DUES OR FEES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS 5.1 Any unit member who is a member of the Association, or who has applied for membership, may sign and deliver to the District an assignment authorizing deduction of unified membership dues, initiation fees, and general assessments of the Association. Pursuant to such authorization, the District shall deduct one-tenth of such dues from the regular salary check of the bargaining unit member each month for ten (10) months. Deductions for bargaining unit members who sign such authorization after the commencement of the school year shall be appropriately pro-rated to complete payments by the end of the school year. 5.2 Any unit member who is not a member of the Association, or who does not make application for membership within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this Agreement, or within thirty (30) days from the date of commencement of assigned duties, shall become a member of the Association or pay to the Association a fee in an amount equal to unified membership dues, initiation fees and general 5.3 Any unit member who is a member of a religious body whose traditional tenets or teaching include objections to joining or financially supporting employee organizations shall not be required to join or financially support the Association, as a condition of employment, except that such unit member shall pay, in lieu of a service fee, sums equal to such service fee to one of the following non-religious, non- labor organizations, charitable funds exempt from taxation under section 501 (c) (3) of Title 26 of the Internal Revenue Code. Such payment shall be made on or before October 15 of each year. (For example: Murrieta Fire Protection District) 5.3.1 Proof of payment and a written statement of objection, along with verifiable evidence of membership in a religious body whose traditional tenets or teachings object to joining or financially supporting employee organizations, pursuant to section 5.3 above, shall be made on an annual basis to the District as a condition of continued exemption from the provisions of sections 5.1 and 5.2 of this Article. Evidence shall be in the form of receipts and/or canceled checks indicating the amount paid, date of payment, and to whom payment in lieu of the service fee has been made. Such proof shall be presented on or before November 1 of each school year. The Association shall have the right of inspection in order to review said proof of payment. 5.3.2 Any unit member making payments as set forth in sections 5.3 and 5.3.1, above, and who requests that the grievance or arbitration provisions of this Agreement be used on his or her behalf, shall be responsible for paying the reasonable cost of using said grievance or arbitration procedures. 5.4 With respect to all sums deducted by the District pursuant to sections 5.1 and 5.2 above, whether for membership dues or agency fee, the District agrees to promptly remit such monies to the Association, accompanied by an alphabetical list of bargaining unit members for whom such deductions have been made, categorizing them as to membership or non-membership in the Association, and indicating any changes in personnel from the list previously furnished. The Association agrees to furnish any information needed by the District to fulfill the provisions of this Article.
PARTICIPATION IN SIMILAR ACTIVITIES This agreement in no way restricts the U.S. Forest Service or from participating in similar activities with other public or private agencies, organizations, and individuals.
Competitive Activities During the term of this Agreement, Consultant will not, directly or indirectly, in any individual or representative capacity, engage or participate in or provide services to any business that is competitive with the types and kinds of business being conducted by Company.
Political Activities Grant funds cannot be used for the following activities: A. Grantees and their relevant sub-grantees or subcontractors are prohibited from using grant funds directly or indirectly for political purposes, including lobbying, advocating for legislation, campaigning for, endorsing, contributing to, or otherwise supporting political candidates or parties, and voter registration campaigns. Grantees may use private, or non-System Agency money or contributions for political purposes but may not charge to, or be reimbursed from, System Agency contracts or grants for the costs of such activities. X. Xxxxx-funded employees may not use official authority or influence to achieve any political purpose and grant funds cannot be used for the salary, benefits, or any other compensation of an elected official. X. Xxxxx funds may not be used to employ, in any capacity, a person who is required by Chapter 305 of the Texas Government Code to register as a lobbyist. Additionally, grant funds cannot be used to pay membership dues to an organization that partially or wholly pays the salary of a person who is required by Chapter 305 of the Texas Government Code to register as a lobbyist. D. As applicable, Grantee will comply with 31 USC § 1352, relating to the limitation on use of appropriated funds to influence certain Federal contracting and financial transactions.
Political Activity An employee shall not use his or her official authority for the purpose of interfering with or affecting the nomination or election of any candidate for public office. An employee shall not command or solicit in a coercive fashion from any other employee direct or indirect participation in any political activity or enforce or solicit in a coercive fashion contribution for any political party, organization, or candidate. An employee shall retain his or her right to vote and freely express opinions on all political subjects. An employee shall not be prohibited from participation in local community activities or from holding public office in the community in which the employee resides, provided that such activity does not conflict with Section 3.01 of the Rules and Regulations for Personnel Administration (and the Federal Hatch Act to the extent that employees of agencies receiving federal funds are subject thereto).
Promotional Activities 19 At the request of North Sound BH-ASO, Provider shall display promotional materials in its 20 offices and facilities as practical, in accordance with applicable law and cooperate with and 21 participate in all reasonable marketing efforts. Provider shall not use any North Sound BH- 22 ASO name in any advertising or promotional materials without the prior written permission of 23 North Sound BH-ASO.
Competitive Activity Executive shall be deemed to have engaged in "Competitive Activity" if, during the period commencing on the date hereof and ending on the second anniversary of the date Executive's employment with the Company or its subsidiaries terminates, (i) Executive, for himself or on behalf of any other person, firm, partnership, corporation, or other entity, engages, directly or indirectly, as an executive, agent, representative, consultant, partner, shareholder or holder of any other financial interest, in any business that competes with the Company or its subsidiaries in the line of business Executive is employed in by the Company or its subsidiaries (as applicable), as such business is described in any employment or severance agreement then in effect between Executive and the Company or one of its subsidiaries or, if no such agreement is then in effect, as described on Schedule II attached hereto (a "Competing Business"), it being understood and agreed that Executive's activities shall not satisfy this clause (i) where Executive is employed by a person, firm, partnership, corporation, or other entity engaged in a variety of activities, including the Competing Business, and Executive is not engaged in or responsible for the Competing Business of such entity. Executive may also, without satisfying clause (i) be a passive owner of not more than 2% of the outstanding publicly traded stock of any class of a Competing Business so long as Executive has no active participation in the business of such entity, except to the extent permitted above; or (ii) Executive (A) directly or indirectly through another entity, induces or attempts to induce any employee of the Company or its subsidiaries to leave the employ of the Company or its subsidiaries, or in any way interfere with the relationship between the Company or any of its subsidiaries and any employee thereof, (B) knowingly hires any person who was an employee of the Company or any of its subsidiaries within 180 days prior to the time such employee was hired by Executive, (C) induces or attempts to induce any customer, supplier, licensee or other business relation of the Company or any of its subsidiaries to cease doing business with the Company or its subsidiaries or in any way interfere with the relationship between any such customer, supplier, licensee or business relation and the Company or any subsidiary or (D) directly or indirectly acquires or attempt to acquire an interest in any business relating to the business of the Company or any of its subsidiaries and with which the Company or any of its subsidiaries has entertained discussions or has requested and received information relating to the acquisition of such business by the Company or its subsidiaries in the one-year period immediately preceding Executive's termination of employment with the Company.
