Four Consecutive Days. Notwithstanding clause 5.1, if a substitute teacher is employed for a period of four or more consecutive days on the same day-to-day assignment, the District shall pay the substitute teacher for such period at a rate in accordance with the applicable rate under the basic salary schedule. This period of consecutive employment in the same day-to-day assignment shall not be considered interrupted or nonconsecutive, if a holiday, teachers’ convention, a professional development day or such other system-regulated break interrupts the substitute teacher’s continuity in the classroom.
