Common use of General Association Leave Clause in Contracts

General Association Leave. The District will grant up to eighteen (18) days per year to employees for the purpose of conducting Association business. Requests shall be made by the MEA President to the Superintendent or designee, and the leave shall be granted in cases where no more than five employees are to be absent for this leave on a given day. Three days notice shall be given by the Association when more than one employee will be absent for Association leave on a given day. This leave may be granted in one hour increments. The Association shall reimburse the District for the full cost of needed substitutes.
