Common use of General Eligibility Clause in Contracts

General Eligibility. a. Faculty in Unit A will be eligible for a salary increase if (i) he or she is employed in a Unit A position as of the date of the ratification of this Agreement by the Board and the Union or September 1 of the academic year in which the salary increase is granted, whichever is later, and either (ii-a) he or she was employed in a position described in Appendix A at the University for at least one academic term during the previous academic year or (ii-b) he or she is returning to a previously held Unit A position following employment in a permanent full-time position at the University for at least one academic term during the previous academic year. b. An employee shall not be eligible for the academic year's salary increases if prior to his or her employment in a Unit A position, the employee has received a salary increase from the University for the academic year.
