General Method Activities Sample Clauses

General Method Activities. Building V&V models involves three activities: Formulate Decision Strategy, Specify Analysis models, Evaluate Architectural Decisions. Activity 1: Formulate Decision Strategy In this activity, we are concerned with satisfying a set of non-functional requirements expressed in terms of concrete high-level scenarios. Each concrete scenario is checked to verify if it is well formed by ensuring that it has all the elements required to bind a decision strategy. For instance, stimulus event arrivals, time constraints, response criticality, and operation conditions are required to evaluate performance properties. We also start identifying associations between the concrete scenarios and analysis reasoning frameworks. Some of the information from the concrete scenarios might eliminate possible analysis reasoning frameworks. For example, if we know that a response time requirement is a hard deadline (criticality attribute), a queuing theory- based analysis framework is eliminated from consideration. As a result of this activity, we identify a collection of non-functional properties, classified into dependent and independent parameters, which must be set before the analysis reasoning framework can be applied.
