Geotechnical Field Explorations. Plan Field Exploration Program: HWA will plan and coordinate a 2-phased geotechnical exploration program for the project. Phase 1 will consist of conducting a series of machine drilled geotechnical borings along the bridge alignment in support of the bridge replacement. Phase 2 of our proposed field explorations will consist of conducting a reconnaissance of steep slope and conducting a series of hand explorations along the slope. Planning will include identification of the location of the geotechnical borings, development of traffic control plans, and coordination of required equipment and utility clearance. • Conduct Utility Locates for Geotechnical Explorations: Prior to generation of our geotechnical work plan, HWA will mark the proposed exploration locations and arrange for utility locates using the Utility Notification Center. Utility location marks will be used to verify proposed field exploration locations prior to development of traffic control plans.
Geotechnical Field Explorations. Conduct three soil borings for a total of 220 linear feet of drilling and laboratory testing to characterize the site for foundation pre-design, construction excavation and dewatering approach assessments. Install groundwater observation xxxxx in two of the borings.
Geotechnical Field Explorations. Conduct three hand auger borings along the proposed exterior wall locations to evaluate if the subsurface soils within the upper 6 feet are suitable to support the proposed exterior wall footings.
Geotechnical Field Explorations. Conduct one soil boring advanced to a depth of 80 feet at the new Operations Center area. Use the new boring and existing borings in the project vicinity to characterize this site for foundation design of the new Emergency Operations Center and Outdoor Area canopies, and for the site- specific seismic hazard evaluations of the existing building. The boring will be backfilled according to State regulations.
