Utility Clearance. Prior to drilling or excavating, we will contact North Dakota One Call and arrange for notification of the appropriate utility vendors to mark and clear the exploration locations of public underground utilities. You, or your authorized representative, are responsible to notify us before we begin our work of the presence and location of any underground objects or private utilities that are not the responsibility of public agencies. As requested, we will drill 21 standard penetration test (SPT) borings for the project, extending them to 10 feet. Standard penetration tests will be performed continuously in the upper 5 feet and at 2 1/2-foot vertical intervals at greater depths. We will collect bag samples from the auger cuttings of the subgrade for laboratory testing. If the borings encounter groundwater during or immediately after drilling each boring, we will record the observed depth on the boring logs. If the intended boring depths do not extend through unsuitable material, we will extend the borings at least 5 feet into suitable material at greater depths. The additional information will help evaluate such issues as excavation depth, consolidation settlement, and foundation alternatives, among others. If we identify a need for deeper (or additional) borings, we will contact you prior to increasing our total estimated drilled footage and submit a Change Order summarizing the anticipated additional effort and the associated cost, for your review and authorization. We will core pavements at eight of the soil boring locations. The cores will be extracted and visually evaluated. Thicknesses and pavement condition within the cores will be reported. We understand this work will take place when temperatures are above freezing. After completing the soil borings, the borings will be backfilled with cuttings and patched with cold-mix asphalt. Over time, subsidence of borehole backfill may occur, requiring surface grades to be re-leveled or patches to be replaced. Xxxxx Intertec is not assuming responsibility for re-leveling or re-patching subsequent to initial backfilling and patching long term. Recovered samples will be returned to our laboratory, where they will be visually classified and logged by a geotechnical engineer. To help classify the materials encountered and estimate their engineering properties, we have budgeted to perform moisture content tests, mechanical analyses (through a #200 sieve only), Atterberg limits tests, sieve hydrometer analyses, modifi...
Utility Clearance. The ENGINEER will consult with the CITY’s Public Works and Transportation Department, Water Department, and other CITY departments, public utilities, private utilities, private utilities and government agencies to determine the approximate location of above and underground utilities, and other facilities (current and future) that have an impact or influence on the project. ENGINEER will design CITY facilities to avoid or minimize conflicts with existing utilities, and where known and possible consider potential future utilities in designs.
Utility Clearance. The Consultant Team will xxxx our boring locations at least two working days prior to beginning our explorations as required by law and notify the regional utility notification centerUnderground Service Alert (USA), so that public and private utilities can be identified and marked at the ground surface. To reduce the risk of damaging unidentified underground utilities during drilling, the Consultant Team will also contract with a private utility locator. The Consultant Team are not responsible for damage to utilities that are not clearly identified. Permits, Site Access and Disposal of Drill Spoils: Our explorations will be permitted and backfilled with cement grout in accordance with the County of San Mateo Environmental Health Department guidelines. The Consultant Team assumes that clear site access will be provided for our equipment at the time of drilling. Exploration equipment is typically heavy, and drilling is a destructive process that disturbs surface soils and other improvements. For the purpose of this proposal, site restoration is limited to general clean-up and does not include the restoration of the site. During our site exploration, drill spoils generated during drilling will be left near our explorations. Drumming, testing and disposal of drill spoils are excluded from this scope of work.
Utility Clearance. We will mark our infiltration test locations at least two working days prior to beginning our explorations as required by law, and notify the regional utility notification centerUnderground Service Alert (USA), and you, so that public and private utilities can be identified and marked at the ground surface. Where practical, we will mark our locations in white paint, or otherwise designate our exploration locations, as requested by USA. Utility operators/owners are required to mark their utilities at the ground surface prior to the start of work. To reduce the risk of damaging unidentified underground utilities during drilling, we will also contract with a private utility locator. We are not responsible for damage to utilities that are not clearly identified. We also request that you forward a copy of utility location plans or drawings, if available, to aid in determining our exploration locations. As our test areas and excavations will be shallow, this scope of work will not be permitted through the City of San Francisco Environmental Health Department. We assume we will have clear access to the site and may perform our scope of work during regular weekday business hours.
Utility Clearance. Consultant shall notify the One-Call Utility Notification Service to identify underground utilities near the exploration locations. Consultant shall utilize conventional geotechnical borings to explore subsurface conditions. Consultant shall coordinate, schedule, and observe the soil borings drilled within the existing Portland Avenue shoulder. During drilling, traffic control shall be provided for the closure of the east bound lane. Up to three (3) geotechnical borings will be advanced to depths of approximately 30-feet below ground surface (bgs) using hollow stem auger drilling until refusal is encountered and then advanced by HQ- wireline rock coring techniques, if appropriate. Samples will be collected using Standard Penetration Testing (SPT) at the surface, 2-feet-deep, and at every identified change in conditions, but not further than every 5-feet. Consultant shall perform laboratory testing to evaluate and confirm the engineering and index properties of the soil and rock encountered. It is anticipated that laboratory testing will include up to three (3) grain-size analyses and three (3) rock core compressive strength tests. Field data will be evaluated with construction considerations, including foundation systems and earthwork. The design-level geotechnical report will be prepared in accordance with the 2022 Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC) and include the following items:
Utility Clearance. The excavation contractor will request utility line locates through the Missouri One-Call no less than 72 business hours prior to initiating field activities. An on-site meeting with City of Springfield and utility personnel may be held to ensure all utilities within the subject area have been identified and clearly marked. Subsurface activities will occur no less than three feet from marked areas. Utility clearance documentation will be kept on site through the duration of field activities. Additional safety precautions include the presence of overhead utilities. Proper management and safety in and around the overhead utilities is the responsibility of the contractor.

Utility Clearance. Prior to performing field work, Consultant will xxxx xxxxxx locations at least three (3) working days prior to beginning the explorations as required by law, and notify the regional utility notification centerUnderground Service Alert (USA), and the City, so that public and private utilities can be identified and marked at the ground surface. Where practical Consultant will mark the locations in white paint, or otherwise designate the exploration locations, as requested by USA. Utility operators/owners are required to mark their utilities at the ground surface prior to the start of work. California law requires that Consultant receive notification that the marked exploration locations have been cleared by each subscribing utility operator with nearby facilities before proceeding with the exploration. Failure of these utility operators to respond with the status of their facilities may result in delays to the schedule that is outside of Consultant’s control. To reduce the risk of damaging unidentified underground utilities during drilling, Consultant will also contract with a private utility locator. Consultant also requests that City forward a copy of utility location plans or drawings, if available, to aid in determining the exploration locations. Drilling permits through the Santa Xxxxx Valley Water District (SCVWD) will not be required since the planned boring depth is less than 45 feet. The project is not within the public right-of-way and, therefore, encroachment permits will not be required. Consultant will coordinate Site access through the City.
Utility Clearance. The Consultant will use the record drawing research and SUE data provided in Task B to design Client facilities to avoid or minimize conflicts with existing utilities. Should it become necessary to adjust any existing utility, this work shall be performed by the owner of the utility or it can be added to this scope of services as an Additional Service.
Utility Clearance. Work around and do not disturb existing overhead or underground utilities. The Department does not anticipate that any utility facilities will need to be relocated and/or adjusted; however, in the event that it is discovered that the work does require that utilities be relocated and/or adjusted, the utility companies will work concurrently with the Contractor while relocating their facilities. The Engineer will not charge working days for those days on which work on the controlling item is delayed, as provided in the Specifications. If the total delay exceeds ten working days, an extension of the overall specified completion date allowed for the work will be negotiated with the Contractor for delay to the Contractor's work. Be responsible for all damage to public and/or private utilities resulting from the work to the satisfaction of the owners, at no additional cost to the Department.
