Common use of Grievance Initiation Clause in Contracts

Grievance Initiation. 36. a. A grievance affecting more than one employee shall be filed with the departmental official having authority over all employees affected by the grievance. 37. b. Only the Union shall have the right on behalf of a disciplined or discharged employee to appeal the discipline or discharge action. These matters shall be initiated with the Appointing Officer or its designee at Step 2. 38. c. All other issues shall be initiated at Step 1.
