The Employer and the Union desire to establish a standard of conditions under which the Employees shall work for the Employer during the term of this Agreement and the desire to regulate the mutual relations between the parties with the view of securing harmonious cooperation and for the settling of any disputes. The Union is recognized as the sole collective bargaining agent with respect to rate of pay, hours of employment and other conditions of employment, for all Union employees working in the position of Laborer, Maintenance Worker, and Crew Leader (or any other non- supervisory position as defined by the Illinois Labor Relations Act) in the Street Department for the Employer. The Union reserves the right to discipline its members for violation of its laws, rules, and agreements.
