Common use of Grievances and Complaints Clause in Contracts

Grievances and Complaints. 6.01 An honest effort to settle all grievances without stoppage of work shall be made in the following manner: (a) By the aggrieved party with the Shop Xxxxxxx and the Foreperson. (b) Failing settlement within five (5) days, the employee and/or his/her Representative shall endeavour to settle the matter with the Department Head. (c) Should no satisfactory settlement be reached within seven (7) days, the employee's Representative will discuss the grievance with the Management. (d) When grievances cannot be finally adjusted by the Company and the Union Representatives, the matter shall be submitted, within seven (7) days, to an Arbitration Board of three (3) persons appointed as hereafter provided.
