Health Information System Strategy. The MCO must provide a copy of these documents within ten (10) business days of written request from BMS. The MCO shall have in place a technology-enabled strategic plan that outlines the MCO’s approach for engaging and educating enrollees, as well as improving access to care and services through telehealth services and web-based applications.

Health Information System Strategy. The MCO must provide a copy of these documents within ten (10) business days of written request from BMS. The MCO must be protected against hardware and software failures, human error, natural disasters, and other emergencies which could interrupt services. The MCO must develop and maintain at all times a detailed HIPAA compliant Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for all technology and infrastructure components and business area operations to provide immediate response and subsequent recover of West Virginia’s data from any unplanned service interruptions. The BCP must include a business impact analysis, testing, awareness, training, and maintenance. The BCP must address a wide range of infrastructure and services recovery responsibility associated with, and/or arising from, partial loss of a function or of data for a brief amount of time to a worst-case scenario in which a man-made or natural disaster results in data center equipment or infrastructure failure or total system failure.   • Access to Protected Health Information 7.1 To the extent Covered Entity determines that Protected Health Information is maintained by Business Associate or its agents or Subcontractors in a Designated Record Set, Business Associate shall, within two (2) business days after receipt of a request from Covered Entity, make the Protected Health Information specified by Covered Entity available to the Individual(s) identified by Covered Entity as being entitled to access and shall provide such Individuals(s) or other person(s) designated by Covered Entity with a copy the specified Protected Health Information, in order for Covered Entity to meet the requirements of 45 C.F.R. § 164.524.

  • Data Protection and Privacy: Protected Health Information Party shall maintain the privacy and security of all individually identifiable health information acquired by or provided to it as a part of the performance of this Agreement. Party shall follow federal and state law relating to privacy and security of individually identifiable health information as applicable, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and its federal regulations.
