Holiday Observed. Part Time Employees Scheduled to Work Less Than “Part Time Employee’s Holiday Hours”: When the number of hours in a part time employee’s scheduled work day that fall on a holiday is less than the employee’s “part time employee’s holiday hours”, the employee is also entitled to receive flexible pay at the rate of 1.0 times his/her rate of pay (not including differentials) for the difference between the employee’s schedule work hours and the employee’s “part time employee’s holiday hours.”

Holiday Observed. Part Time Employees Scheduled to Work in Excess of “Part Time Employee’s Holiday Hours”: When the number of hours in a part time employee’s scheduled work day that falls on a holiday is more than the employee’s “part time employee’s holiday hours”, the employee must use non-sick leave accruals for the difference between the employee’s scheduled work hours and the employee’s “part time employee’s holiday hours.” If the employee does not have any non-sick leave accrual balances, leave without pay (AWOP) will be authorized.
Holiday Observed. Full-Time Employees: Each full-time employee is entitled to observe a holiday (8 hours off work), without a reduction in pay whenever a holiday is observed by the County. When a full-time employee is scheduled to work less than eight (8) hours on a holiday and the employee observes the holiday, the employee is also entitled to receive flexible pay at the rate of one (1.0) times his/her base rate of pay (not including differentials) for the difference between eight (8) hours and the hours the employee was scheduled to work on the holiday.
Holiday Observed. Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday, the previous day will be considered a holiday. Whenever a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following day will be allowed as a holiday. Support Staff Employees working ten (10) and twelve (12) hour shifts amounting to a forty (40) hour week shall be granted one hundred and thirty (130) hours in lieu of the above holidays. Holiday hours must be used within twelve (12) months of the holiday hours earned. Employees assigned to work within the Corrections facility shall accrue all hours granted to them on January 1st of each year, subject to the requirement that an Employee within one of these work groups shall pay back any unused hours for holidays that have yet to occur in a given year should they separate from employment prior to the end of the calendar year. A conversion will be done of the holiday hours should an Employee move from one shift to another. Holiday Time will be approved by the Supervisor, with the approval of the Lieutenant, at a time of the Employee’s choice that will not cause undue interference with the operations of the City and Police Department. An Employee desiring to claim accrued holiday leave must first procure the approval of their respective Supervisor and Lieutenant, and such request shall be made seven (7) days prior to the desired time off. The request will also be approved or denied within seven (7) days of the request. Nothing herein will prohibit an employee from submitting a request at less than seven (7) days and having that approved; however, there is no obligation on the part of the Employer to consider approval of an expedited request. Leave requests must be written, and submitted to the Employee’s Supervisor.   • Holiday Observance When the observed holiday falls on the employee’s scheduled work day, that day will be considered the holiday. When an observed holiday falls on the employee’s scheduled day off, he or she will be permitted to take an alternate day off during the week in which the holiday is observed. Employees must schedule any such alternate days off in advance with the approval of their supervisors. Employees may elect to receive equivalent compensatory time in lieu of an alternate day off.

  • Holiday Worked In addition to Subsection A above, employees will be compensated for the hours actually worked on a holiday at the overtime rate, in accordance with Article 17, Overtime.

  • Holiday Overtime Employees who work on a holiday will be paid one and one-half (1.5) times their regular hourly rate for all hours worked in addition to idle holiday pay. This does not refer to weekend and holiday coverage (refer to Section 26.2).

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.

  • Vacations and Holidays The Executive will be entitled to four weeks paid vacation each Fiscal Year in accordance with the vacation policies of the Employer in effect for its executive officers from time to time.
