Common use of Horizontal Advancement Clause in Contracts

Horizontal Advancement. 10.5.1 After initial placement, advancement horizontally from column to column is based on semester units of upper division or graduate college credits earned from accredited institutions after the granting of the Bachelor's Degree. 10.5.2 Quarter units of college credit shall have two-thirds (2/3) of the value of semester units of college credit. 10.5.3 Bargaining unit members shall move horizontally in accordance with the requirements of the then existing salary schedule. 10.5.4 Course work taken for horizontal movement must be submitted to the Professional Advancement Committee for approval.
