Horizontal Advancement for Degree Earned. A faculty member earning a degree will advance to the appropriate degree lane (BA, MA, or DOC) at a rate of one lane per academic year. a. For faculty members with a Master’s degree, credit for horizontal advancement will only be allowed for graduate courses from a regionally accredited institution in your teaching field or closely related area, unless otherwise previous approved by the Vice President. b. For faculty members with a Bachelor’s degree, credit for horizontal advancement will only be allowed for graduate courses from a regionally accredited institution towards a Master’s degree in your teaching field or closely related area, unless otherwise previous approved by the Vice President. c. By signing this agreement, I agree to reimburse Spoon River College for any penalties up to $5,000 that may be incurred due to the State University Retirement System (SURS) 6% Rule, if I should voluntarily terminate my employment within five years of this agreement. I understand that penalties imposed upon Spoon River College would not occur until such time as my application for retirement is submitted.

  • Step Advancement Each faculty member will be granted one (1) increment on the salary schedule each year up to the maximum allowed.   • Payment for Unused Sick Leave (a) An employee with less than ten (10) years of FIU service who separates from FIU shall not be paid for any unused sick leave. (b) An employee who has completed ten (10) or more years of FIU service, has not been found guilty or has not admitted to being guilty of committing, aiding, or abetting any embezzlement, theft, or bribery in connection with State government, or has not been found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction of having violated any State law against or prohibiting strikes by public employees, and separates from FIU because of retirement for other than disability reasons, termination, or death, shall be compensated at the employee's current regular hourly rate of pay for one-eighth of all unused sick leave accrued prior to October 1, 1973, plus one- fourth of all unused sick leave accrued on or after October 1, 1973; provided that one-fourth of the unused sick leave since 1973 does not exceed 480 hours. The compensation in this paragraph 8(4)(b) shall not be given to an employee who starts employment at FIU on or after July 1, 2006. (c) Upon layoff, an employee with ten (10) or more years of FIU service shall be paid for unused sick leave as described in paragraph b., above, unless the employee requests in writing that unused sick leave be retained pending re-employment. For an employee who is re-employed by the University within twelve (12) calendar months following layoff, all unused sick leave shall be restored to the employee, provided the employee requests such action in writing and repays the full amount of any lump sum leave payments received at the time of layoff. An employee who is not re- employed within twelve (12) calendar months following layoff shall be paid for sick leave in accordance with this Policy. (d) All payments for unused sick leave shall be made in lump sum and shall not be used in determining the average final compensation of an employee in any State administered retirement system. An employee shall not be carried on the payroll beyond the last official day of employment, except that an employee who is unable to perform duties because of a disability may be continued on the payroll until all sick leave is exhausted. (e) If an employee has received a lump sum payment for accrued sick leave, the employee may elect in writing, upon re-employment within 100 days, to restore the employee's accrued sick leave. Restoration will be effective upon the repayment of the full lump sum leave payment. (f) In the event of the death of an employee, payment for unused sick leave at the time of death shall be made to the employee's beneficiary, estate, or as provided by law.

  • Scheduled RDOs on Designated Long Weekends It is recognised that there is merit in programming no work on the RDOs adjacent to public holiday weekends during the working year. This will allow Employees to have quality paid family leisure time.

  • STRS PICK-UP The Board agrees, as a condition of employment, to tax shelter employee contributions to the State Teacher's Retirement System (STRS) in accordance with State Retirement System and Federal Internal Revenue Service guidelines and restrictions. This section in no way implies that the Board will contribute any portion of the employee's share of retirement contributions. For purposes of this paragraph, total annual salary and salary per pay period of each bargaining unit member shall be the salary otherwise payable under this Agreement, as amended. The total annual salary and salary per pay period of each member shall be payable by the Board in two parts: (1) deferred salary and (2) cash salary. A member's deferred salary shall be equal to that percentage of said member's total annual salary or salary per pay period which is required from time to time by the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) to be paid as an employee contribution by said member as a pickup of the STRS employee contribution otherwise payable by said member. A member's cash salary shall be equal to said member's total annual salary or salary per period less the amount of the pickup for said member and shall be payable, subject to applicable payroll deductions, to said member. The Board's total combined expenditures for members' total annual salaries otherwise payable under this Agreement, as amended, (including pickup amounts) and its employer contributions to STRS shall not be greater than the amounts it would have paid for those items had this provision not been in effect. The Board shall compute and remit its employer contributions to STRS based upon total annual salary, including the "pickup". The Board shall report for Federal and Ohio income tax purposes as a member's gross income said member's total annual salary less the amount of the "pickup". The Board shall report for municipal income tax purposes as a member's gross income said member's total annual salary, including the amount of the pickup. The pickup shall be included in the member's total annual salary for the purpose of computing daily rate of pay, for determining paid salary adjustments to be made due to absence, or for any other similar purpose. The pickup shall apply to all payroll payments made after the effective date of this provision. Should the Board's payment of deferred salary cause an individual bargaining unit member's annuity contributions to exceed the IRS permissible level, any such individual shall have the right to adjust annuity deductions within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this provision.

  • Salary Advancement H. The City Manager may approve the appointment of an employee who is to be laid off to an existing vacancy in a lower class for which the employee is qualified without requiring an examination, provided the concerned department head so recommends. I. The names of regular employees who have been laid off or bumped down due to reduction in force shall be placed on an appropriate layoff reemployment list according to date separated or bumped down and shall be eligible for reemployment. The last employee laid off or bumped down shall be the first employee on the list, with other employees listed in sequential order thereafter. Each employee on the layoff reemployment list shall remain on that list for 1 year, at which time the list expires unless extended by the City Manager. Names of employees not responding to written notification of an opening within 10 working days shall be removed from the reemployment list. The City Manager can extend the active period of the reemployment list or individual employee's eligibility on such list for a 6-month period as determined to be in the best interests of the City. J. Notice of recall from layoff shall be by return-receipt-requested mail and shall specify the date for reporting to work, which shall not be more than 21 calendar days from the date the notice is received. Notice shall be deemed to have been received when sent to the last known address on file with the City and attempted delivery or delivery is certified by the Postal Service. Upon receiving notice, the person on layoff shall have 5 calendar days to accept or decline the recall opportunity. An employee who fails to respond within the 5 calendar days, refuses recall, or fails to report on the prescribed date within the 21-calendar-day maximum thereby waives all further right to recall and reinstatement as an employee. Where recall is declined, the City will proceed to the next name on the reemployment list and follow the same notice and response procedure. This process will continue through the list until recall needs are met on the list or the list is exhausted. K. A person appointed from a reemployment list must serve a new probationary period if recall from such list occurs more than 90 calendar days after the effective date of layoff. The new probationary period in such circumstances shall be 6 months. L. Reemployed employees shall receive the following: 1. Retention of full-time service seniority accrued at the date of layoff. 2. The salary for the classification in effect as of the date of return, at the same step as the date of layoff. 3. The accrual rate of vacation and sick leave in effect for the employee's seniority level and class at the time of rehire. 4. All the benefits or programs in effect at the time of layoff shall be forfeited unless they are still applied to the classification or salary range at the time of rehire or provided to new hires as of that date. M. An employee who elects to resign in lieu of layoff, or while laid off, shall forfeit all rights to reemployment and is entitled only to those rights related to severance from City employment.

  • Termination Payment for Force Majeure Event 30.9.1 If Termination is on account of a Non-Political Event, the Authority shall make a Termination Payment to the Concessionaire in an amount equal to 55% (fifty five per cent) of the Debt Due less Insurance Cover. 30.9.2 If Termination is on account of an Indirect Political Event, the Authority shall make a Termination Payment to the Concessionaire in an amount equal to: (a) 55% of the Debt Due less Insurance Cover; provided that if any insurance claims forming part of the Insurance Cover are not admitted and paid, then 80% (eighty per cent) of such unpaid claims shall be included in the computation of Debt Due; (b) 60.5% (sixty point five per cent) of the Adjusted Equity; and 30.9.3 If Termination is on account of a Political Event, the Authority shall make a Termination Payment to the Concessionaire in an amount that would be payable under Clause 33.3.2 as if it were Authority’s Default.

  • Teaching Load 11-1 The parties recognize that the number of students, the number of preparations, and the amount of planning time are related to student performance. 11-2 CLASS SIZE 11-2-1 The parties recognize that class size is related to economics and that reduction of class size is faced with fiscal constraints. The parties further recognize that it is not feasible at this time to set general numerical limitations upon class size because of physical space available, special programs, special student needs, attendance area variances, differences in scheduling systems, busing, and because of other variable causes affecting class size. Nevertheless, the parties shall make reasonable effort to maintain class size at reasonable, workable, and educationally effective levels in all situations. 11-3 TEACHER LOAD 11-3-1 Teaching load shall be defined as the number of separate class preparations that a teacher has per school day as delineated in the course description guide.

  • Description of Administration Services on a Continuous Basis (a) PNC will perform the following administration services with respect to each Portfolio: (i) Prepare quarterly broker security transactions summaries; (ii) Prepare monthly security transaction listings; (iii) Supply, in the form requested, various customary Portfolio and Fund statistical data on an ongoing basis; (iv) Prepare and ensure the filing of the Funds’ annual and semi-annual reports with the SEC on Forms N-SAR and N-CSR and the Fund’s quarterly reports with the SEC on Form N-Q; (v) If mutually agreed by PNC and VP Distributors in writing, prepare (or assist in the preparation of) and ensure the filing of (or coordinate filing of, as may be mutually agreed) such other reports with the SEC as may be required by the SEC and that would be primarily fulfilled using books and records maintained by PNC under the terms of this Agreement; (vi) Assist in the preparation of registration statements and other filings relating to the registration of Shares; (vii) Monitor each Portfolio’s status as a regulated investment company under Sub-chapter M of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (“Sub-Chapter M”); (viii) Coordinate contractual relationships and communications between the Funds and their contractual service providers; (ix) Prepare expense budgets, accrual review and expense reports as needed; (x) Provide read-only on-line access to accounting system as requested; (xi) Provide electronic transmissions of holdings, transactions, security master, general ledger, NAV, security pricing data, and cash activity as specified; (xii) Coordinate printing and mailing of annual and semi-annual financial statements; (xiii) Prepare reports for Fund Boards and attend Board meetings when and as requested; (xiv) Prepare, execute, and file each Portfolio’s Federal and state tax returns, including closed funds, and appropriate extensions after review and approval by the Fund’s independent registered public accounting firm; (xv) Prepare, execute, and file each Portfolio’s federal excise returns (Form 8613) after review and approval by the Fund’s independent registered public accounting firm; (xvi) Prepare annual tax provisions and financial tax disclosures; (xvii) Prepare tax cost for semi-annual and Form N-Q filings updated for current year-to-date wash sales and prior year known Schedule M adjustments; (xviii) Prepare dividend calculations, including accompanying analysis and earnings summary in accordance with applicable policy (as such policy is provided in writing by VP Distributors to PNC), and maintain dividend history; (xix) Prepare required disclosures for shareholder reporting, including Form 1099-DIV reporting and supporting materials such as QDI, DRD, income from U.S. Obligations, income from State obligations, income from AMT obligations, tax-exempt income, and Florida intangibles; (xx) Monitor and propose procedures as needed for tax considerations in the following areas: corporate actions, consent income, bad debt/restructurings, new instruments, premium amortization, and legislation and industry developments on an ad hoc basis; and (xxi) Prepare and deliver, to the extent available to PNC, survey information when and in the form requested.

  • Career Advancement In order to attain Professional Teacher Status, the Educator should achieve ratings of proficient or exemplary on each Performance Standard and overall. A principal considering making an employment decision that would lead to PTS for any Educator who has not been rated proficient or exemplary on each performance standard and overall on the most recent evaluation shall confer with the superintendent by May 1. The principal’s decision is subject to review and approval by the superintendent.
