Identify, document, and synthesize knowledge. On-going Activity leader: Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxxxx Activity Start Date: July 1, 2010 Activity End Date: June 30, 2011 RATIONALE FOR ACTIVITY Since Year 1, BALANCED has been compiling the names and affiliations of actors in the global PHE community into a database and creating a visual “map” of the PHE community of practice (3,240 individuals, to date)—data that also tracks the potential reach of BALANCED and other PHE project activities. This data is gleaned from PHE events, literature searches and direct contacts and has the potential to help identify potential new PHE networks, which can be one avenue for expanding the reach and breadth of PHE. Similarly, the Project has created a database of over 6,000 PHE documents and publications cited by the authors of materials collected in the PHE Toolkit (see Activity 2.2) that includes author and citation, which will be used to identify additional documents needed by the PHE community and to create bibliographies of peer reviewed literature on different facets of PHE experience. A key tool for outreach and communications on PHE is the PHE Toolkit. The BALANCED Advisory Committee made several recommendations for strengthening this tool including increasing the number and range of documents on the Toolkit of interest to two key audiences underrepresented on the site—i.e., academics and field practitioners. BALANCED is working proactively to identify and access resources that fall into these categories. An important mandate for BALANCED is to provide evidence of the benefits of integrated PHE approaches. Toward this end, BALANCED conducted benefits research in the Philippines, and we plan to conduct field-based research in other countries and settings that have implemented or are implementing PHE. The goal is to analyze and synthesize the research findings and disseminate these to the existing PHE community as well as to PHE newcomers. Other research includes documenting the different ways in which PHE is/can be implemented—to demonstrate the range of models available—and exploring linkages between PHE and issues such as gender equity, climate change impacts, and HIV/AIDS.

  • TECHNOLOGY/KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER ACTIVITIES The goal of this task is to develop a plan to make the knowledge gained, experimental results, and lessons learned available to the public and key decision makers. The Recipient shall: • Prepare an Initial Fact Sheet at start of the project that describes the project. Use the format provided by the CAM. • Prepare a Final Project Fact Sheet at the project’s conclusion that discusses results. Use the format provided by the CAM. • Prepare a Technology/Knowledge Transfer Plan that includes: o An explanation of how the knowledge gained from the project will be made available to the public, including the targeted market sector and potential outreach to end users, utilities, regulatory agencies, and others.

  • Education and Specialized Knowledge Preferably secondary school graduation; a good working knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations; a good knowledge of safety rules and regulations as they pertain to the driving and/or operation of the vehicles, equipment and machinery involved; preferably graduation from a defensive driving course and/or a recognized training program in the driving and operation of commercial type vehicle or heavy equipment.

  • Background Screening VENDOR shall comply with all requirements of Sections 1012.32 and 1012.465, Florida Statutes, and all of its personnel who (1) are to be permitted access to school grounds when students are present, (2) will have direct contact with students, or (3) have access or control of school funds, will successfully complete the background screening required by the referenced statutes and meet the standards established by the statutes. This background screening will be conducted by SBBC in advance of VENDOR or its personnel providing any services under the conditions described in the previous sentence. VENDOR shall bear the cost of acquiring the background screening required by Section 1012.32, Florida Statutes, and any fee imposed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to maintain the fingerprints provided with respect to VENDOR and its personnel. The parties agree that the failure of VENDOR to perform any of the duties described in this section shall constitute a material breach of this Agreement entitling SBBC to terminate immediately with no further responsibilities or duties to perform under this Agreement. VENDOR agrees to indemnify and hold harmless SBBC, its officers and employees from any liability in the form of physical or mental injury, death or property damage resulting from VENDOR’s failure to comply with the requirements of this section or with Sections 1012.32 and 1012.465, Florida Statutes.

  • BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION The BOARD is prohibited from knowingly employing a person who has been convicted of committing or attempting to commit certain criminal offenses. If the required criminal background investigation is not completed at the time this Contract is signed, and the subsequent investigation report reveals that there has been a prohibited conviction, this Contract shall immediately become null and void.

  • Failure to Supply Workmen or Materials or to Prosecute the Work A Notice of Non-Compliant Work may be issued for failure of the Contractor to supply enough workers or enough materials or proper materials to prosecute the Work. A Notice of Non-Compliant Work in such event may be based on Article 3.3.2 (Competent Management of Time), and upon the definition of Work as set forth under Paragraph 1.1.9.58.

  • Knowledge and Scholarship in Special Field Each certificated support person demonstrates a depth and breadth of knowledge of theory and content in the special field. He demonstrates an understanding of a knowledge about common school education and the educational milieu grades K12, and demonstrates the ability to integrate the area of specialty into the total school milieu, to wit:

Operator represents that it has all intellectual property rights necessary to enter into and perform its obligations in this DPA and the Service Agreement, warrants to the District that the District will have use of any intellectual property contemplated by the Service Agreement free and clear of claims of any nature by any third Party including, without limitation, copyright or patent infringement claims, and agrees to indemnify the District for any related claims.

  • Geological and Archeological Specimens If, during the execution of the Work, the Contractor, any Subcontractor, or any servant, employee, or agent of either should uncover any valuable material or materials, such as, but not limited to, treasure trove, geological specimens, archival material, archeological specimens, or ore, the Contractor acknowledges that title to the foregoing is vested in the Owner. The Contractor shall notify the Owner upon the discovery of any of the foregoing, shall take reasonable steps to safeguard it, and seek further instruction from the Design Professional. Any additional cost incurred by the Contractor shall be addressed under the provision for changed conditions. The Contractor agrees that the Geological and Water Resources Division and the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources may inspect the Work at reasonable times.
