Common use of Illness or Bereavement During Vacation Clause in Contracts

Illness or Bereavement During Vacation. Sick Leave or Bereavement Leave shall be substituted for vacation where it can be established by the Employee that an illness or accident occurred during his/her vacation, such illness or accident to have been sufficiently serious that it would normally have necessitated the Employee remaining away from work. Bereavement Leave of three (3) days shall be substituted for vacation in accordance with Article 21:03 of this Collective Agreement.
