Illness While on Vacation. If, while on vacation, an employee becomes ill and is under the care of a physician and submits a physician's statement, the employee may use accumulated sick leave for that personal illness. Sick leave may not be used for illness of a family member during the employees' vacation.

When all or part of an employee’s vacation is to be processed as sick leave, the appropriate vacation credit shall be restored to the employee’s earned vacation balance. The credited vacation may be rescheduled in accordance with this Agreement.
Illness While on Vacation. In the event that an employee is sick for a period of a week or more during the employee's annual vacation, the employee shall be entitled to take the lost vacation period with pay at a different time, provided the period is charged against the employee's sick leave credits. The employee must provide a certificate from the employee's physician stating the employee would not have been able to work because of the sickness.
