Illness While on Vacation. Holiday a. Immediately upon return to duty, the employee submits to the appointing authority a written request for sick leave. The appointing authority may require evidence in the form of a physician’s certificate, or otherwise, of the adequacy of the reasons for the time for which sick leave was requested. b. The appointing authority recommends and the Personnel Officer approves the granting of such sick leave.

Illness While on Vacation. Holiday: An employee who becomes ill while on vacation may have such period of illness charged to his/her accumulated sick leave instead of to vacation, provided that:
