Common use of Immediate Suspension Clause in Contracts

Immediate Suspension. 22.3.1 Pending investigation, by the District, of accusations against a bargaining unit member involving a misappropriation of public funds or property; furnishing controlled substances; committing a sex offense (as defined in Ed. Code Section 87010 or Penal Code 261.5) with a minor student of the District; assault or battery upon another person while on the job, or while on school premises or adjacent thereto, or while on a field trip, outing or other District-sponsored activity; committing any act which would constitute a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, or would threaten the safety or welfare of the employee, student, the public, or other District employees; the District may suspend the unit member with or without pay for a period not to exceed twenty (20) working days. The suspension may be terminated by the District giving twenty-four (24) hours written notice to the unit member.
