IMRF Leave of Absence Authorization and Disability Benefits. (A) Employees who have a medical certification of a disability which may expend for 30 calendar days or more could be eligible for disability benefits under the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (see IMRF Disability Benefits). To be eligible, an employee must have 12 months or more of service credit with IMRF. Pregnancy is included as a disability under IMRF if the employee is eligible and claims should be submitted in the same manner as other disability claims. Human Resources should be contacted for the forms for application.
