Independent Legal Representation. The Parties understand that mediation is not a substitute for independent legal advice. The Parties are encouraged to be represented by legal counsel in the Mediation and, if not, they are strongly advised to obtain independent legal review of any formal settlement agreement before signing such an agreement. The Mediator may require one or both Parties to have any agreement reviewed by legal counsel to ensure that the Party is or Parties are reaching a reasonably informed agreement.

So long as a conflict does not arise, the Lancaster County Attorney's Office shall provide legal representation to the YFCRC.
