Common use of Injury Pay Provision Clause in Contracts

Injury Pay Provision. ‌ (a) An employee who is injured on the job during working hours and is required to leave for treatment or is sent home for such injury shall receive payment for the remainder of his/her scheduled and assigned hours on that day provided the injury results in the employee being approved for a Workers’ Compensation Board claim. (b) Employees eligible for sick leave coverage pursuant to Article 28 (Sick Leave) shall have the option to access such coverage for the first day of absence due to injury. Where an employee is subsequently approved for a WCB claim for the same injury, the sick leave credits paid for the first day of injury shall be reinstated to the employee.
