Introduction to Durham County Council. Durham County Council, the contracting authority undertaking this procurement exercise, is a Unitary local authority, created in April 2009. It is the largest of the twelve local authorities in the North East. The council’s high-level priorities are set out in our Council Plan, which supports the County Durham Vision 2035, developed with partners and residents, the vision sets out the shared long-term ambitions for the county. It is structured around three externally focused results-based ambitions of ‘more and better jobs’, ‘long and independent lives’ and ‘connected communities’ The Council is now driving forward measures to unlock growth in our economy, and this will necessitate a rethinking of how to develop a more sustainable local economy in the future, and to maximise the value of the County Durham Pound by local spending. Social value is about considering the economic, social and environmental benefits for communities when making decisions about how contracts are awarded, and budgets are invested. When employing a contractor, for example, factors such as the businesses’ environmental ethos, apprenticeship programmes and community outreach work are taken into account, alongside considerations such as quality, price and timescales for delivery. In line with this vision and maximising the County Durham Pound, the Council has developed a Procurement Strategy to ensure that we carry out all commissioning and procurement activities collaboratively and in an economic, environmental and socially responsible manner on behalf of the council and its key stakeholders, making sustainable purchasing decisions that promote the long-term interests of the communities we represent.   • ENHANCED AND SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICES BY COUNTY (Continued) 2 ongoing services that SHERIFF otherwise would provide to CITY pursuant to 3 this Agreement. Such supplemental services shall be provided only by 4 regularly appointed full-time peace officers, at rates of pay governed by a 5 Memorandum of Understanding between COUNTY and the bargaining unit 6 representing the peace officers providing the services. Such supplemental 7 services shall include only law enforcement duties and shall not include 8 services authorized to be provided by a private patrol operator, as defined in 9 Section 7582.1 of the Business and Professions Code. Law enforcement 10 support functions, including, but not limited to, clerical functions and forensic 11 science services, may be performed by non-peace officer personnel if the 12 services do not involve patrol or keeping the peace and are incidental to the 13 provision of law enforcement services. CITY shall reimburse COUNTY its 14 full, actual costs of providing such supplemental services at an amount 15 computed by SHERIFF, based on the current year's COUNTY law 16 enforcement cost study. The cost of these supplemental services shall be in 17 addition to the Maximum Obligation of CITY set forth in Subsection G-2 of 18 this Agreement.   • Department of Transportation Bridge Maintenance employees, when actually climbing the cable stays of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge for inspection and/or repair, shall be compensated at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00) an hour in addition to their regular hourly rate of pay. Employees shall be compensated for a minimum of one (1) hour of such work regardless of the length of the climbing assignment.

  • County of Orange Child Support Enforcement In order to comply with the child support enforcement requirements of the County of Orange, within ten (10) days of notification of selection of award of CONTRACT but prior to official award of CONTRACT, the selected CONTRACTOR agrees to furnish to the CONTRACT MANAGER, the Purchasing Agent, or the agency/department deputy purchasing agent:

  • Assistance by COUNTY STAFF 1.3.1. COUNTY shall assign an appropriate staff member to work with A-E in connection with the work of this CONTRACT. Said staff member's duties will consist of the giving of advice and consultations, assisting A-E in negotiations with other public agencies and private parties, miscellaneous items which in the judgment of A-E or COUNTY's staff warrant attention, and all other duties as may be described in Attachment A.

  • Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union recognize the role of the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in promoting a safe and healthful workplace. The parties agree that a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be established for each Employer covered by this Collective Agreement. The Committee shall govern itself in accordance with the provisions of the Industrial Health and Safety Regulations made pursuant to the Workers’ Compensation Act. The Committee shall be as between the Employer and the Union, with equal representation, and with each party appointing its own representatives. Representatives of the Union shall be chosen by the Union membership or appointed by the Union. All minutes of the meetings of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee will be recorded in a mutually agreeable format and will be sent to the Union. The Union further agrees to actively pursue with the other Health Care Unions a Joint Union Committee for the purposes of this Article. The Employer agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Employer members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfil those duties competently.
