Another challenge is that up to now the business model focus has been on technology-based innovation, as many enterprises start with product- and prior-knowledge based solutions, phrased as "products looking for a need". There is also rarely any place for or recognition of any other value creators beyond the staff itself. Today patients/users are seen as cost drivers not as assets and/or enablers. Finally, the lack of systematic tools that facilitate creativity and divergent thinking, which is essential, for developing innovative business models is foreseen as some of the main issues toward innovation in Business model.

Issues & challenges. User empowerment in the field of independent living covers a wide range of areas and addresses each one’s use of innovative technologies and services. Specifically, it covers: • Inclusion; • Co-creation including user feedback on their experience using services and products and co-design with older people; • Awareness raising including access to information, understanding of existing barriers and ways to overcome them; • Confidence building including confidence in using technology and being able to purchase technology. Moreover understanding the diversity of users is essential to achieve an effective user empowerment. Users are a diverse group, heterogeneous itself and changing over time. This is particularly relevant when addressing older users’ needs, often portrayed as a homogeneous group while it may often cover a 30 year lifespan (60-90 years old). In order to help with this complexity, the definition of end-users suggested by the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Joint Program9 can serve as a good starting point: - Primary end user is the person who is actually using an AAL product or service, a single individual (i.e. older people and people with chronic diseases). - Secondary end users are persons or organizations getting directly in touch with a primary end user, such as formal and informal care persons, family members, friends, neighbours, care organizations and their representatives. - Tertiary end users are such institutions and private or public organizations that are not directly in contact with AAL products and services, but who somehow contribute in organizing, paying or enabling them.

  • Challenges The Experts may be challenged by either Party if circumstances exist that give rise to justifiable doubts as to any of their impartiality or independence. In such circumstances the challenge shall be brought by written notice to the ICC copied to the other Party within fourteen (14) calendar days of the appointment of the relevant Expert or within fourteen (14) calendar days of the challenging Party becoming aware of the circumstances giving rise to the challenge. Unless the challenged Expert withdraws. or whichever of the Parties that has not brought the challenge agrees to the challenge, within fourteen (14) calendar days of the challenge, the ICC shall decide the challenge and, if appropriate, shall appoint a replacement Expert in accordance with the criteria set out herein.

  • Disputes Concerning Membership -23 Any dispute arising as to an employee’s membership or service charge shall be reviewed by the designated representative of the Employer and a representative of the local Union, and if not resolved, may be submitted to Step III of the Grievance Procedure. However, the employee may be retained at work while the dispute is being resolved.

  • Legal Appeals a. Nothing contained in these provisions is intended to limit or impair the rights of any vendor or Contractor to seek and pursue remedies of law through the judicial process. Appendix C Appendix C, Contract Modification Procedure, attached hereto, is hereby expressly made a part of this Contract as fully as if set forth at length herein. Appendix D Appendix D, Pricing Schedules, attached hereto, is hereby expressly made a part of this Contract as fully as if set forth at length herein. Appendix E Appendix E, Report of Contract Purchases, attached hereto, is hereby expressly made a part of this Contract as fully as if set forth at length herein. OGS reserves the right to make unilateral changes to this Report of Contract Purchases document. Appendix F Appendix F, Project Based Information Technology Consulting Services Processes and Forms, attached hereto, is hereby expressly made a part of this Contract as fully as if set forth at length herein. OGS reserves the right to change the processes and forms set forth Appendix F in non-material and substantive ways without seeking a contract amendment. Appendix F is comprised of the following attachments:

  • Legal Action If you are dissatisfied with the determination of your claim, and have complied with applicable state and federal law, you are entitled to seek judicial review. This review will take place in an appropriate court of law. Under state law, you may not begin court proceedings prior to the expiration of sixty (60) days after the date you filed your claim. In no event may legal action be taken against us later than three (3) years from the date you were required to file the claim. For members covered by a group (employer sponsored) health plan, your plan may be subject to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), as amended. Under federal law, if your plan is subject to ERISA you may have the right to bring legal action under section 502(a) of ERISA after you have exhausted all appeals available under the plan. That means, for both medical and administrative appeals, federal law requires that you pursue a final decision from the plan, prior to filing suit under section 502(a) of ERISA. For a medical appeal, that final decision is the determination of the appeal. You are not required to submit your claim to external review prior to filing a suit under section 502(a) of ERISA. Consult your employer to determine whether this applies to you and what your rights and obligations may be. If you are dissatisfied with the decision on your claim, and have complied with applicable state and federal law, you are entitled to seek judicial review. This review will take place in an appropriate court of law.

  • Resolution of Adverse Effects If FEMA determines that an Undertaking may adversely affect a historic property, it shall resolve the effects of the Undertaking in consultation with the SHPO, Grantee(s), subgrantee, participating Tribes the ACHP, if participating, and other consulting parties, by one of the following methods depending upon the severity of the adverse effect(s) as well as determination of the historic property’s significance on a local, state or national level. When FEMA determines an Undertaking will adversely affect an NHL, FEMA shall notify and invite the Secretary and ACHP to participate in consultation in accordance with 36 CFR § 800.10. When the ACHP participates in consultation related to an NHL, the ACHP shall report the outcome of the consultation to the Secretary and the FEMA Administrator.

  • CONTROL; OWNERSHIP; LEGAL PROCEEDINGS The Applicant shall immediately notify the District and Comptroller’s office in writing of any actual or anticipated change in the control or ownership of the Applicant and of any legal or administrative investigations or proceedings initiated against the Applicant related to the project regardless of the jurisdiction from which such proceedings originate.

  • Initiation of Proceedings (1) At the request of either Contracting Party a dispute concerning the interpretation or application of this Agreement may be submitted to an arbitral tribunal for decision not earlier than 60 days after such request has been notified to the other Contracting Party.

  • Assistance in Litigation or Administrative Proceedings Covered Entity shall provide written notice to Business Associate if litigation or administrative proceeding is commenced against Covered Entity, its directors, officers, or employees, based on a claimed violation by Business Associate of HIPAA, the HIPAA Rules or other laws relating to security and privacy or PHI. Upon receipt of such notice and to the extent requested by Covered Entity, Business Associate shall, and shall cause its employees, Subcontractors, or agents assisting Business Associate in the performance of its obligations under the Contract to, assist Covered Entity in the defense of such litigation or proceedings. Business Associate shall, and shall cause its employees, Subcontractor’s and agents to, provide assistance, to Covered Entity, which may include testifying as a witness at such proceedings. Business Associate or any of its employees, Subcontractors or agents shall not be required to provide such assistance if Business Associate is a named adverse party.
