OVER TIME. If a driver of a bus on a special trip is paid a fee for that trip, the driver must be a regular bus driver/employee and these employees must be contacted and requested to drive such trips. In the event that regular driver employees are unable to take such trips then other employees of the District may be requested to drive, if qualified. Whenever possible overtime driving opportunities will be posted forty-eight (48) hours in advance by the District. Employees interested in accepting the opportunities must notify the Transportation Supervisor during the period of posting.
OVER TIME. All hours worked in excess of seventy (70) hours in a pay period (two weeks), will be considered overtime and will either be paid or banked at one and one half (1-1/2) times the nurses regular rate of pay. Such overtime must be pre or post-authorized by the Employee’s Program Manager or Designate. In extenuating circumstances, approval of post authorized overtime may be granted on a case by case basis. All work on weekends or statutory holidays, required by the Employer that is not a pre-scheduled shift, will be considered overtime and will be compensated at the rate of time and one-half the straight time hourly rate for Saturdays and two times the straight time salary rate for Sundays and Statutory Holidays. All pre-scheduled work on Saturday will be self-scheduled by the Nurse in conjunction with her/his Program Manager. Nurses may be required to work up to ten (10) pre-scheduled Saturdays in each calendar year. All pre-scheduled work, with sixty (60) days notice, on Saturday will be paid at the nurses’ straight time hourly rate with a minimum guarantee of three (3) hours pay. In addition, the Nurse will receive an allowance of ninety cents (90c/ ) per hour.
OVER TIME. Should Otis agree to work overtime, you agree to pay us overtime premium wages. If Otis is solely responsible for a delay, it may, at its own expense, work overtime to complete the work.
OVER TIME. A Studio Technician may provide a warning towards the end of your booking session. Please note, bookings that go over the time booked may incur a late fee. Accommodations cannot be made for late arrivals. Bookings are frequently made back to back. No compensation will be made for late arrivals. In the case of a late arrival, a technician may not be able to help you.
OVER TIME. All time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day or all hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half (1 ½) times the employee's regular hourly rate of pay. No employee shall be paid premium rates under more than one pay provision for the same hours worked.
OVER TIME. Section 16.1 All hourly employees shall receive time and one-half (1-1/2) for all work performed over eight (8) hours per day or during any hours not constituted as the basic work day, or for over forty (40) hours in any one work week. All employees in the Engineering Division shall receive time and one-half (1-1/2) for all work performed over forty (40) hours in any workweek.
Section 16.2 Regular employees, except those at the Recreation and Parks Department beach operations and other park facilities, and employees assigned to refuse collection, shall not work on any holiday set forth in Article 35.1 and they shall receive a full day's pay for this holiday. If any emergency makes it necessary for an employee other than those in the Parking Enforcement, Parks and Recreation Department, and beach operations or other park facilities or seasonal employees, to work on a holiday, he shall be paid two and one-half (2-1/2) times his regular rate (and thus be paid a total of two and one-half (2-1/2) days pay for the holiday). The normal holiday pay is included in this payment.
Section 16.3 The City of Norwalk agrees that only those equipment operators whose usual duties are closely associated with work required to be performed beyond their regular hours of employment shall be used for extra work. For the purpose of this section, extra work shall include emergency work and snow removal. If the regular employees of the Department are not available to do extra work, the authorized supervisor shall call other qualified employees. Until normal resources are exhausted, no person other than the employees of the Operations Division shall drive or work on any piece of City-owned equipment for extra work but DPW may draw from other employees in Local 2405 if they are qualified.
Section 16.4 An employee called for emergency work shall be given a minimum of three (3) hours at one and one-half (1-1/2) times his regular pay rate.
A. Work required for general snow and ice control is not considered emergency work under this three (3) hour minimum rate clause.
Section 16.5 The City of Norwalk agrees to equitably distribute overtime assignments to the available employees who can do the work without further training on a rotating schedule based on seniority and job classifications. OVER TIME. Employees required to work more than eight and one-quarter (8.25) hours in any one day, or more than forty (40) hours in any week shall be paid for such work at one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay, except for holiday weeks when additional penalties are added. Overtime must be authorized by the Company. All hours worked by employees in excess of thirty-two (32) hours, in a week which contains one holiday or after twenty-four (24) hours in a week which contains two holidays shall be paid for at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular straight time rate of pay. Work on the holiday shall count toward making up the forty (40) hours in computing overtime over forty (40) hours actually worked, but shall not count as a day worked as one of the four (4) days of work, or as time worked in determining overtime for work in excess of thirty- two (32) hours as set out above. It shall also not count as a day worked as one of the three (3) days of work, or as time worked in determining overtime for work in excess of twenty-four (24) hours as set out above when two (2) holidays occur in the same work week. Time and one-half (1½) overtime pay shall not be pyramided for both daily and weekly overtime. Penalty Pay shall not be considered as overtime pay. Overtime at one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay shall be paid for all work performed on the sixth (6th) day of the employee's work week.
OVER TIME. (a) The work day for member shall consist of eight (8) hours of work with a designated starting and quitting time. The normal work year is defined as a yearly average of two thousand eighty (2,080) hours per year. The normal pay period shall be eighty (80) hours of pay so that members shall receive one twenty-sixth (1/26) of their annual salary every two weeks. The hourly rate for over- time compensation is established by dividing the member's annual salary be two-thousand eighty (2,080) hours per year.
(b) The City shall be the sole judge of the necessity for overtime. For members scheduled to a seven (7) day work period, all hours in excess of forty (40) hours in that work period will be compensated at a rate of one and one-half (1½) times the member's regular rate of pay. For all members scheduled to an eight (8) day work period, all hours in excess of forty-eight (48) hours during that work period will be compensated at a rate of one and one-half (1½) the member's regular rate of pay. All work in excess of the regular eight (8) hours worked shall be overtime and shall be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1½) of the member's regular rate of pay.
(c) All paid holiday hours and paid vacation hours shall be counted as hours worked for the purpose of computing overtime, sick leave and overtime taken shall not.
(d) A method of compensation shall be in the manner and fashion specified below, at the election of each member:
(1) By paying current straight time in salary for the period worked with one-half (½) time being credited to accumulated compensatory time if applicable; or,
(2) By crediting time and one-half (1½) or straight time, if applicable, to accumulated compensatory time. The election made by each member as to the method and fashion in which overtime compensation is to be issued binds and requires each member to accept overtime in a manner consistent with said election for one three (3) month period effective January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and/or September 1st of each year. Each member shall make his quarterly election in writing by January 1st of each respective year and records of such election will be kept and maintained at the District level and the Chief's Office.
(e) A member of the bargaining unit who has 22 years of service in the Department and has reached the age of 45, may elect to have overtime compensation thereafter paid in salary.
