Job Discontinuance. i. When an employee’s job is permanently discontinued they may immediately exercise their seniority rights and apply for another position. Employees affected will be given a trial period as per Article 6.07; ii. If the Company deems the employee unable to perform the job, they will be assigned to the Yard Operator position. Should he not have seniority to retain a Yard Operator position, he will be allowed a second bump; iii. If the job that was bumped into is vacated within the trial period, the previously bumped employee shall return to their vacated position; iv. Once employees have been notified that their job has been discontinued or they have been bumped, they will have to exercise their temporary bumping rights within three (3) calendar days for the first bump and five (5) calendar days for any further bumps resulting from the initial bump.
