Common use of Job Injury Clause in Contracts

Job Injury. If the teacher’s injury was sustained on the school premises as a result of an assault and the injury is determined to be compensable under Worker’s Compensation laws, the teacher will: a. Receive full salary for the first seven (7) school days of absence; b. Receive the difference between the daily rate paid through Worker’s Compensation and the teacher’s daily salary for a period of fifty-three (53) additional school days of absence. c. Not be charged for Sick Leave for the sixty (60) school days described above; d. Obtain validation for the absence from the teacher’s physician. In the event the Worker’s Compensation is to be used, it shall be the responsibility of the teacher to follow all of the established procedures for applying for Worker’s Compensation. e. Receive time for appearance before a judicial body or legal authority as a result of such assault and will not result in loss of wages or in reduction of accumulated Sick Leave days of the teacher.
