The job-sharing partners also agree to substitute for one another on a daily basis, when feasible, at the established substitute daily rate of pay. 7. Job-sharing requests shall be made in writing to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources on or before March 1, unless extraordinary circumstances arise. 1. If an employee wishes to continue a job share after one year, he/she must resign the leave portion of his/her assigned FTE. Salaries and leave days shall be prorated as to the number of days worked, with individuals being placed on their part of the index schedule. These bargaining unit members shall each be credited with seniority credit for placement on the salary schedule and in proportion based on the number of days employed (with 120 days being one year of employment). Each bargaining unit member shall have the option annually of receiving any fringe benefits such as hospitalization, dental, etc., with the Board paying a portion of the single or family premium prorated to the amount of time worked. Participants in the program may contribute the remainder of funding for full benefits. These bargaining unit members will waive their right to resume full-time employment until a full-time position becomes available for which they hold a valid certificate. If bargaining unit members on the recall list are similarly certified, then district-wide seniority shall determine the option of recall. X. Xx a bargaining unit member on the recall list declines a job sharing position, he/she devotes will not waive recall rights and only after all bargaining unit members on the recall list decline placement in the job sharing position will other candidates be considered. E. The building principal shall provide an opportunity for the job sharing teachers to discuss scheduling needs. Total preparation time for job sharing bargaining unit members shall be equivalent to the position.A job-sharing staff member shall be entitled to preparation time of a full-year credit on time bargaining unit member in that position. An attempt shall be made to divide the salary schedule for each year of employment preparation time equitably between the job sharing bargaining unit members. The bargaining unit members involved in job sharing should, jointly with the School district if time devoted to principal, develop a plan for sharing job obligations (i.e., meetings, parent/teacher conferences, grading, progress reports.) Each bargaining unit member shall share relevant information with the other bargaining unit member. F. Any bargaining unit member entering into the job sharing program will remain in the job sharing position equals or exceeds one-half (1/2) until the end of the full-time position. JOB SHARING. A. Voluntary job sharing shall be defined as the sharing of duties and responsibilities of one (1) full time equivalent position by two (2) employees and is dependent upon student needs and scheduling feasibility. JOB SHARING. 1. The Board of Education supports jobA. Job sharing shall refer to a voluntary option available for two-sharing opportunities that may enhance both professional and personal development for licensed staff members, without distracting from educational services unit members in like job classifications (licensure/certification) to students or the district. 2. Job-sharing means that two (2) staff members will actually share one (1) full time position. Priority for job sharing opportunities shall be given to unit members on a first-come, first- served basis, other conditions permitting. The Superintendent may designate classifications, grade levels, and buildings at which job sharing opportunities may be available. Even at designated classifications, grade levels, and buildings, the Superintendent may limit the number of job- sharing opportunities. Job sharing must conform to and last the full school year. B. It shall be the primary responsibility of the unit member seeking a job-sharing opportunity to find an acceptable job-sharing partner. No unit member shall be required to job share or be involuntarily reassigned or transferred for the purpose of job sharing except that the district may place a new hire with a current unit member requesting to job share. Unit members interested in job sharing for the upcoming school year may express their interest in writing to the Superintendent on or after March 15 but prior to April 1.
