JOB SHARING. For the purpose of this agreement job sharing means the situation whereby two bargaining unit members voluntarily agree in writing to share one position that would normally be filled by one employee. The Job Sharing team will assume the present teaching assignment of one of the team members. At the conclusion of Job Sharing, the member who vacated his/her position to assume part-time status will be reassigned under the Member Initiated Request for Transfer provision of this Agreement. The member who retained his/her assignment during Job Sharing will assume full-time status in the same position that was occupied by the team. Effective with the 2011-2012 school year, job share teams shall be organized as daily half-day assignments only. The practice of working on a full-time basis for half of the school year and not working the other half is not permitted. Members assigned to part-time positions under this section shall be compensated at one half (1/2) the level which the member would receive under a full-time contract. If a member elects to take fringe benefits, costs for hospitalization, term life insurance, dental and vision coverage shall be shared equally by the member and the Board. Job sharers shall accumulate sick days at the rate of 7.5 days annually. Upon use of sick days, job sharers shall have one-half day deducted from their accumulated sick day total per day of use, and shall be paid at their half-time rate per day of use. For severance pay computation purposes, a member who retires from a job sharing position shall have his or her severance benefit computed on the basis of the member’s daily rate of pay had said member been employed under a full-time contract. Any member of a Job Sharing team may withdraw his/her consent to be a team member for the subsequent school year by submitting a written request for withdrawal prior to 5:00 P.M. on the Monday before the second Board meeting in April of each year. The request to be removed from a Job Sharing team must be received in the Department of Human Resources by this specified date and time. If no withdrawal request is filed prior to this time, the Job Sharing team members will be committed to their half-time Job Sharing contracts for the following school year, and the team may be dissolved only with the mutual consent of both team members and the Executive Director – Human Resources. Responsibilities All teachers who are members of a job share partners team shall be divided and/or allocated according work together to coordinate the curriculum instruction, classroom rules, approach to discipline, homework policies, and all other educational matters so that the students will experience a written plan designed by the job-share partners with the approval of their immediate supervisor. For purposes of seniority accrual and salary advancement, each job sharing Covered Employee will be credited with one (1) year of service for each year spent in job sharing. A Non-probationary Covered Employee participating in the job sharing program will not lose Non-probationary Status by participating. 11.6.5 If one (1) member of the job sharing team leaves during the school year, the remaining member of the team will agree to complete the school year as a full-time Covered Employee if the District cannot find an acceptable candidate to finish the school year. JOB SHARING. (I) For short-term absences where a substitute is not available, the other job sharing partner will assume teaching responsibilities at one-half the substitute rate. (J) If due to extenuating circumstances a permanent teacher asks to return to full-time employment after the initial approval by the Administration to participate in the program, the request may be considered on an individual basis after discussion with the appropriate administrative personnel. If approved, the return to full-time employment will be based on placement in an available vacancy for which the teacher is certified to teach. However, there is no guarantee that when the individual returns to full-time employment he/she must resign the leave portion of his/her assigned FTE. JOB SHARING. For 18.1 The Board of Trustees shall consider each job sharing request on individual merits. The Board’s discretion is limited only by the purpose provisions of Section 7.3 of this agreement contract. 18.1.1 An initial request to job share, to continue, or discontinue job share, shall be filed with the Superintendent by March 1. A non-probationary Teacher or non-probationary School Counselors participating in the job sharing program will not lose non-probationary status by participating. 11.6.5. If one (1) member of the job sharing team leaves during the school year, the remaining member of the team will agree to complete the school year as a full-time employee if the District cannot find an acceptable candidate to finish the school year. JOB SHARING. For ‌ A. Job sharing shall refer to two teachers, each of whom share between 40 and 60 percent of one full time assignment. At least one of the purpose job-sharing teachers must be a permanent teacher on a regular contract. Job sharing may include working in the regular or year-round program. Two Unit Members may share an assignment for a minimum of one year. Initial job sharing requests can be made singularly (District will attempt to match) or as a team of two teachers. Any job-sharing request by any teacher beyond one year must be as a team. Applications for a job-sharing assignment for the following school year shall be filed with the District no later than March 1st. Job-sharing is encouraged where it can be demonstrated that there will be a maintenance or improvement in the educational advantage to students and when it will create minimal scheduling, curricular, or administrative problems. B. Reduced assignment shall refer to a permanent member on a regular contract requesting a partial leave of absence. The District shall approve or deny requests and notify, in writing, the applicants of its decision by May 1st. The member attending the staff meeting will be required to provide the non-attending member detailed notes of the topics presented and all distributed handouts and supporting documents. JOB SHARING. For 17.1 Unit members wishing to participate in the purpose job-sharing program must first apply through their principal. JOB SHARING. JOB SHARING. For 1. A job shared assignment may be requested after a teacher's third full year of service. In the purpose of this agreement event a non-tenured teacher is approved as the job-sharing partner, the non-tenured teacher will be given part-time employment status. Teachers who share positions may apply for a second successive year, but a participant in a job sharing means leave have no vested right in its renewal or extension. 2. A job shared assignment must be for one academic year, beginning in August/September and ending in June. 3. Each year, Xxxxxx will allow up to five job-shared teaching positions in the situation whereby two bargaining unit members voluntarily agree district. 4. By March 1, the job sharing partners are to submit a written letter of request to the individual’s supervisor, who will forward the request to the superintendent, building principal and assistant superintendent for Human Resources. Both job sharing partners need to be named in the request. Approval will be made based on consideration of staffing needs. Every effort will be made to notify the job sharers of their status by May 1st. If more than five sets of partners apply and are qualified for participation, selection of participants will be made by lot. Approved job sharing positions are irrevocable except by mutual consent of the district and job sharing partners or by resignation of one position or both partners. In the event that would normally be filled by one employeepartner resigns, the remaining tenured partner must assume the full assignment. 5. During the year of job sharing the tenured participating teachers will retain seniority and tenure within the district as if they were assigned full time responsibilities. Participation in the fringe benefit program will be available to tenured staff at a job share shall be subject prorated basis and limited to annual District approval and those items the District will determine staff members participated in during the number previous year. For each year of job sharing positions, if any, within the District for that yeara tenured staff member will receive one half-year seniority. Job-sharing certificated employees shall be given experience credit for advancement year on the salary schedule based for every two years of job sharing. 6. A teacher may not participate in job sharing immediately following or preceding any other approved leave, except for maternity/child rearing leave. 7. During the year of job sharing, sick leave will be allocated and, if necessary, may be used on the employee’s FTE. C. Continuing contract employees who have been granted same basis as if the teacher had a job share may either resign full time assignment. Sick leave allocated and not used during the remaining portion of his/her FTE or apply for year will be allowed to accumulate on a leave of absence for the remaining portion of his/her FTEpro-rated basis. If an employee wishes to continue a job share after one year, he/she must resign the leave portion of his/her assigned FTE. JOB SHARING. For 20.1 Unit members wishing to participate in the purpose job-sharing program must first apply through their principal. Mutual agreement between the unit members, the principal and the Superintendent is required before the shared position can be finalized and implemented. 20.2 A condition of this agreement job sharing means entry into shared position shall be that the situation whereby two bargaining affected unit members voluntarily agree shall decide between themselves which of them shall have the right to retain the shared position, in writing the event both unit members wish subsequently to share return to a regular, full-time position. 20.3 The shared position shall be approved for a maximum of one position school year at a time. 20.4 A unit member on a job-shared assignment who performs substitute duties for his/her co- worker or other unit member outside of his/her assignment during an unassigned work time shall be paid for that would normally service according to the current substitute salary schedule. 20.5 If a job-sharer leaves for a long-term illness or absence, (two [2] calendar weeks) the remaining partner shall assume teaching responsibilities during the absence. 20.6 Unit members wishing to return to full-time status after participation in the program shall, upon request, be filled by granted full-time contracts, providing full-time positions are available and they are qualified and credentialed to fill said positions. 20.7 Salaries of participants in the job-sharing program shall be paid and benefits granted on the same basis as his/her assignment is proportional to full-time services. In no event shall the total cost exceed the cost of one employee(1) full-time equivalent unit member. 20.8 Participants in the job-sharing program shall be required to attend meetings as deemed appropriate to fulfill their professional responsibilities which may or may not occur during their work duty time and perform mandated, non-instructional and adjunct duties required of all unit members. JOB SHARING. JOB SHARING. At this meeting the job sharers shall present and discuss their plan of how they intend to allocate and/or divide their responsibilities as they relate to parent-teacher conferences, yearly and daily instructional plans, scheduling of adequate contract time between the District will determine job sharers to ensure continuity of the program, and duties specified in Section 6.22 of the Agreement. 15.5 In considering the acceptance of the job sharer's plan, the principal shall use, but is not limited to, the following criteria: prior performance evaluations, number of job shared positions at site, and compatibility of job sharer's philosophies of education and discipline. If the principal decides against the job sharers' plan, he/she shall give such reasons verbally to the unit members at the meeting and will reduce said reasons to writing if requested. 15.6 Periodically, with adequate prior notice, the principal may require the job sharers to meet and discuss their program and its continuity. 15.7 Participants will be responsible for adequate planning with their partners and for short and long range lesson plans to be reviewed by the principal or immediate supervisor. Lesson plan requirements shall not exceed those required by other unit members. 15.8 Job sharing positionsapplicants may apply to work one-half (1/2) of the school year or one-half (1/2) of each day during the school year, if any, or any other arrangement as mutually agreed to by the unit member and the unit member's principal. 15.9 Job sharing assignments shall be filled by unit members who have jointly requested to work together. Should a unit member requesting half-time employment be unable to secure a job sharing partner within the District for unit, the unit member may submit a written proposal to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources requesting that year. The parties acknowledge and agree that while a job share arrangement sharer be secured from outside the District. Participants shall not lose full-time tenure credit they have previously accumulated in the school district. 15.11 Participants will receive one-half (½) the salary they would receive if they were working full-time. 15.12 Participants shall be placed appropriately on the Teachers' Salary Schedule and shall be given appropriate added increments for advanced degrees. 15.13 Job sharing participants must contribute to the State Teachers' Retirement System and will receive credit for one-half (½) year of service toward retirement. 15.14 A participating unit member will receive credit each year for one (1) full year's advancement on the salary schedule when such unit member is on duty for seventy-five (75%) percent of the total number of days in which the schools of the District are in regular session. Effective July 1, 1983, job sharers who do not work seventy-five (75%) of the total number of days in which the schools of the District are in regular session shall be granted one (1) year's salary advancement for each two (2) full years of service as a job sharer. Notwithstanding, Section 7.1, unit members sharing a position shall receive fifty (50%) percent of the annual District contribution for the health and welfare benefit package or may split one benefit package, subject to the approval of the District's health and welfare benefit carriers. 15.15 The District's commitment to the unit member electing to work one-half (½) time in job sharing will be for one-half (½) time employment in the future. However, job sharers shall have priority for full-time employment over temporary or substitute employees. 15.16 If the job sharer desires to increase from part-time to full-time employment, such increase shall depend upon the staffing needs of both the District and the Association unit member's qualifications.
